  • You need to get the VHS/DVD's that are part of Margaret Batiuchok Thesis on Lindy Hop

    Really amazing stuff!

  • Is there any way to get hold of the full interview?

  • I had the honor of dancing with him in 1983 in NYC. He was a guest of Teddy Kern, my lindy teacher for one year. He was so fine.

  • Many old timers smoked pot, many didn't...I respected all of them....;)

  • Yes, this is surely the old black gentleman with whom I had the pleasure to dance during a basic swing and lindy year-long study with Teddie Kern as teacher. I had smoked a little pot in advance -- bad move! I couldn't keep up with his leads. But he was polite and did what he could with me. It was great! Long live dance, and thank you for posting this! I took the lessons in NYC in '83.

  • @slobomotion Drinking Booze, blurs the beat.....smoking pot, ya keep the beat....peace my friend..lol

  • @2barbreak Hee hee, maybe for you! When I was in a punk band, our rule was, NO SMOKING POT UNTIL AFTER THE GIG AND THE REHEARSALS! Maybe it was just us, but pot always messed up our timing. We are all wired differently. My French spouse becomes depressed, withdrawn and nauseated on pot. It's just "noth his thing." So be it -- costly here in France! (We have hashish, cheap and good, but even so, I have been a good girl for 7 years now! xo

  • George claimed NOT to do the Lindy Hop!!! He claimed to do "swing" , which was different, and he was very clear on his Video Taped interview on what the differences are, and even demonstates it by changing partners (Margrete B.) with Frankie Manning.

  • I am fairly certain he is the guy Teddy Kern brought into our swing dancing class in NYC in 1983. I had the privilege of dancing with him, but I'd smoked a little weed before, and couldn't keep up. He just smiled, a gentleman. He knew!

  • @slobomotion yup, almost certain that would be him...

  • @2barbreak Hee hee hee!

  • What an amazing dancer - and he sure knows which category of dancer he belongs to! So, so smooth. I'd kill to be able to dance and move like that!

  • I wish I could dance like this man... I will keep relaxing till there!!! he is the man!

  • AWESOME.

  • hes right. some people dance and each of them is doing tons of work trying to keep themselves in line but if 2 people work together then all the sudden there isn't any work and the dance takes you with it.

  • George Lloyd's style is smooth as hell. I love it.

  • George Lloyd's style is smooth as hell. I love it.

  • Great dancing...but Margaret was one of the best dance partners a guy could have! That gal could always dance!

  • Loved it ! thanks 4 sharing. ;)

  • nice to see some swing dancing besides the Lindy Hop! :)

  • Hmm, this is lindy hop.

  • Sounds like peter has something to teach us... waiting.

  • If you guys watched his whole interview, he says he doesn't do the Lindy Hop....he does Swing, and explains the difference...:)

  • Kick ass

  • Ooooh! Nice. I'm really sorry I haven't heard of him.

  • awesome.
