God, this movie is so sad!!! This part was the most depressing to me. I remember bawling when I first watched the movie in school. lol Everyone laughed at me when I accidentally sobbed really loud, and one of my friends came over and cried with me. Goooood tiiiiimes.

In my opinion this is the saddest scene in the whole movie and I think that so many people think the same because the phantom is so relatable.Almost everyone has felt lonely at some point maybe even heartwrenchingly so, much like the phantom.So this scene just kind of embodies that sense of lonliness, the kind that causes almost an ache in your chest.

i just saw it two days ago in dallas, and it was so sad at this scene! he hears the box playing, scurries over to it and kneels down next to it, clapping happily like a little kid... i began bawling at that... poor phantom :(

I love the movie. Its one of my favorite movies. Theres so amazing music and Gerry Butler is an amazing Phantom. :) It is so beautiful story, that about Phantom, who was really real in Paris. It makes me sad. And - I love this song. I really cant describe this. Its... so pretty.

well i think that the phantom reprisents the dark mysterius dad guy that every girl wants at some point of time. And Raoul is childhood friend that whould go over the top for the one he loves. Even though the phantom was an adventure for a while they both knew they each had to move on

to all those who wish she picked the phantom ill like to point out that if she did it would have seriously injured the whole story. the point was that the phantom was no monster or ghost just a person longing for love. and once he found the fake love in christines kiss did he realize that if he lvoed her so much he had to let her go and be with the man he knew would take care of her.
