You mean your user account? If so download a program called Cain and Able ( I also had my "USER's" password changed) and just either

a) Bruteforce the user account

b) Dictionary attack it

c) Just ask for the password and ask him why he changed it :)

@Rb38226 Sorry to hear that. There is a way to do that, but it would depend on what software you had installed a lot of the time people don't have software like this but there are some out there that would allow you to do that.

If you don't have this your best bet would be to either tell apples it blew up and see if you can get a new one or try and find what the ip is on it and try to get a general location that way then tell the police.

Because is actuallity; what he showed you weren't "computers" but "MySpace Servers", its illegal to shutdown servers, because first of all, other people use these servers (For example, right now, you and I (Everytime we go onto the "Youtube" site) are using Youtubes servers. Secondly important information may be stored on these servers and may therefore be harmful to people if released. Thirdly Servers cost money( ALOTOFMONEY) and when you take them down take time to restart again :)

@Rawralion Well actually it is some what. For many types of "hacking" such as ssh tunneling you would need some way to identify the target, which could be just a simple IP address so yes in a way it is.

It's just an overrated situation, most people think that IP's are the only thing you need to "hack" someone's computer.

This will only work on an internal network which you administer. All you are doing with the tracert is seeing all the IP hops between you and the websites external network. You will not be able to use this command on anything with this method
