I like Scrappy, I think he's good but the problem of this is because the rest of the gang Daphne, Fred and Velma were on hiatus so Hanna and Barbera would only focus on Scrappy, Scooby and Shaggy. They did return but not for long. To me it's not that much fun without the rest of the gang.

During the first season of this show Srappy was ok. He has a different voice in season one then he had in the rest of the seasons. This voice, the one from the first season fits his character really well. The later voice makes him sound much more annoying. Why they changed his voice, I don't know.
@MrScottx - I agree with you there. Scrappy wasn't as annoying as he was after his 1st season b/c Scooby still had Fred, Velma and Daphne. But once they got axed (though Daphne would come back on a regular basis in 1983 on The New Scooby Doo Mysteries), Scooby wasn't the same and the show became more focused on Scrappy.
@MrScottx Lennie Weinrib originally voiced Scrappy and was replaced by Don Messick. Messick had originally auditioned for Scrappy but was rejected, and Weinrib was hired after much painstaking searching for the right voice. He didn't return over a pay dispute, and was getting difficult to work with also. Weinrib's natural speaking voice was very similar to Casey Kasem's, so why he didn't attempt Weinrib's version I'll never know - it would have been much closer than Messick.
Scrappy was completely un-needed. I don't think he lasted long as he wasn't very popular - as far as I remember anyway. Whatever Scrappy was a lame character

When Scrappy enter, I don't mind him. I find it very cute XDD but I didn't like it when they protray him in the 2000 live action movie, SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE!! I'll admit when they reavil him as the villian in the film it was a slap in the face of childhood.

Scrappy ruined the original series but once fred and Velma left and thus it wasn't about solving mysteries anymore and fighting real monsters Scrappy made more sense in those. Heck you want a Poochy look at Flim Flam

I hated scrappy with a passion, he was an egomaniac, had severly limited control over his actions and was rammed down our throats from day one. every scene HAD to have a scene with scrappy spouting his machismoism at every strange guy he encounters. he was just so damn annoying- in an in-your-face sort of way which is worthy of any sort of intense dislike about a character. He does'nt even get his own glittering circle with scooby at the title card;he was that bad. not even the writers liked him
