I own all version, and while I usually go for the PlayStation-versions of Warriors-games, I went to Xbox 360 for this one. And if I feel like crazy, I'll play Orochi Z on the PS3, which is essentially Warriors Orochi 1 + Warriors Orochi 2 in one game. :)

I have been looking to buy a "starter" game in this genre. I "ONLY" own PS3, Xbox 360,& PSP. Can someone please recomend a Dynasty Warriors or Warriors Orochi that I should buy? Gamers keep telling me to buy DW4, but I DO NOT OWN A PS2! Any help would be much appreciated. I am looking to buy 1 psp game in this genre 7 also 1 (either Xbox 360 or PS3) game in this genre. @Khimeran77 Get DW7 it just recently came out but if you dont have the money I would go for DW6 or Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes which is another hack and slash similar to the DW and SW series. Hope this helps :)

@barrak101 Awasome and thanks for the feedback. I think that I will just go ahead and take the big plunge and chance spending $60 on DW7. I have been hearing very good things about it. I haven't played a Japanese themed game since Onimushi series, which I wish would come back.

The reason that I say that is because I am use to seeing a ton of fanboy comments, but I have been receiving nothing but helpful reply's from gamers and even more on a Dynasty Warriors 7 review. @Khimeran77 Don't go too deep into the playthrough especially since you haven't experienced the story before. You'll ruin it for yourself if you do. I eneded up watching the entire thing before getting the game, and really wish I hadn't done.

DW games have always got poor reviews from critics. It angers me, because they are fantastic games, and I don't know if I'd ever have got into them if it wasn't for a DW2 demo coming with my PS2. So I'm happy to help someone new try these games.

@Khimeran77 Hey, did you buy DW7? I may have done you a disservice, as I've come to realise DW7 has probably the worst AI of any of these games. It is the best DW at most things, but unfortunately the gameplay takes a nosedive in this one, I was too busy enjoying the initial experience to notice. Might not be such a bad thing for you, as a beginner though, but many of the last gen games blow the gameplay of DW7 out of the water. Just thought I'd tell you that.

I have been asking DW gamers because they seem like they know what they are talking about, like yourself. I am not a genre specific & there have been so many great new title launches. I haven't had a chance to buy a DW game yet. I'm currently playing L.A. Noire, Borderlands GOTY and Portal 2. I own both Xbox 360 & PS3, so I will be getting the exclusive titles for both, next being InFAMOUS 2. I will buy a DW when things slow down. I do appreciate your DW guidence though & I will let you know.

I freakin' LOVE this game!

The story, the gameplay, the kill rate, I love it all.

Some people don't like the 3 character tag teams, but I love that too, because it has saved my ass several times.

If your looking for a awesome massive army hackn slash game, get Spartan: Total Warrior. It isn't that repetitive and enemies doesn't disappear in 1 second when they die. Plus its cool, because you can paint the ground with blood.

I really enjoy these games too, but the truth is they are just not very exciting, if you have no interest in the characters or the story then you will have no interest in this game itself. lol.

And hes making a very good example at the button mashing concept as hes only hitting square constantly with every character he uses. theres more combos than that....lol

Oh wow. This makes the other PSP Warriors games, Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 and Samurai Warriors State of War look like absolute garbage by comparison. I feel almost cheated by how blatantly superior this is to the other ones.

Still, maybe it helped that they could package this in from the PS2 version, but I'm still shocked they could fit it all in so well. It's all there, just inferior graphics.

I have played the 360 version of this game A LOT. Its great and gets very fast paced when you level up your characters weapons and infuse them with the "Almighty" attribute. You cut through enemy officers like you do the regular rank and file.

in the beginning try using was it c2 or c3 i dont remember but its the one where lu bu swings his spear over his head... it pests them at start belive me :D try using nu wa's special when enemy is in the air and it usually goes FLLLLLYYYYYIIIIINNNNNGGGG away (usuallu) =P
