Many people shouldn't go to college. This society needs to learn that a little under 50% of the people have below average intellegence.
If everyone goes to "public" college, a new type of post-college schools will become more popular, and then you'll be running to have those payed for in a few decades.
College shouldn't get more entitlements, but less. I don't want Obama telling me what to do and where to spend my money, even if it would "pay off" in the long run (which it wouldnt anyways)
that of course being the case if left current school-system as it is. i also don't support the idea of having 'anyone' let into college but fixing that issue would be quite easy; simply by lifting/introducing the numerus clausus for college, as well as tightening the student's 'justification' i.e. more vital exams. if students can master those requirements, i'm more than willing to pay for free college-fees.
Then you should give it as charity. Not vote to make people follow your values.
I'm not my brother's keeper. My first responsibility is to myself. I have 50-60 more years to live my life, then there is nothing.
I'll be damned if I'll give up my quest for happiness (material and spiritual) to someone else unless the person going to college adds value to my life. And then it should still be voluntary as charity.
I could go into economic arguments, but it is primarily a moral issue.
what i look away from you tube for a few mins and there is this earth shattering announcement... everyone twitter this news... lets let him be known. i want a semi gamer who is a law student as my goveneror and he is deocratic... i think.
You're right, DenimZero. It would be public education...which is what it's supposed to be.
See: "The University of California (UC) is a public university system in the state of California. The University of California is a part of the state's three-tier public higher education system, which also includes the California State University system and the California Community Colleges system."
