I used to have this gig on VHS tape - long since knackered and worn out. Anybody got a copy of it on disk or dvd they could send me? It would be very much appreciated! Message me if you can help me out please.
I have always loved New Model Army's sound, the prominence of the bass being one of the reasons. I've always loved bass heavy music like this. The Subhumans from Canada had a similar sound, prominent bass all over the song. Bliss!! Thank you for posting this wonderful song.
@Shukria123 No rest for the wicked ones!!! 4 o clock in the morning still we cannot sleep, twisted in our sweat.. Who the fucking hell need a dentist if he composes this way!!!
People look at this from a rock band from Brazil called AUTOGESTÃO playing New Model Army 51st State and see other videos of these guys are one of the best underground bands in the Brazil

Far king hell. Little Dave from Brixton on shoulders at the start of the song. Was this the "Raw Melody men" or was this the three night stint? My memory is going.
Stuart is working in the building trade in Bradford. Great guy and possibly the finest bass player ever! He left NMA largely because of Justins' missus, Joolz, who was trying to take over the band. He and my sister were partners for many years, and have a son. The late, lamented Rob Heaton was a family friend and is greatly missed by all who knew him.
Saw them last night in Barcelona. I was a bit disappointed really. I bought their first three singles & LP & then largely lost interest. I saw them in 1986 & they were OK. Testerday I was expecting a few oldies, but there were only four songs I recognised & a lot of new stuff. It's inevitable I suppose, but the older stuff sounds so much better than the newer material. Too much drumming & not enough of the old bass work. I'm just an old git I suppose.
I heard because of musical differences.......apparently Stuart wanted to be more musical you know with songs like "I Wish"..where as Justin wanted to keep on preaching ....Dunno for sure but he was a very good bass player. Wonder what he is doing right now???. BTW i am .HIGGY. Ask nick the frog who I am.
1985 at the Marquee: wasn't Joe McGann (brother to Paul McGann) on the door then. I didn't get to see them live until 2000 and something in New York. NMA still kicked ass and it was their so-called 'acoustic' tour.
Have a look at on my front page subcriptions list on the left and you'll see mooseharris himself. Alive, well and uploading great old NMA and Damned videos himself
No bother, he was in the band for such a short time you could be forgiven in thinking he was never in it, if only for the fact he was an extreme bass player.
The CLASSIC NMA line up!There is a REALLY shit hot version of this on "All Of This"The Live raritys cd!They just seem to lock into a really tight unit!Love them!Peace!
Probably heresey to say it Michael cause heaven knows Slade is/was good but you have to wonder from this showing (and others on YouTube) if it might have been (nb Slade fans MIGHT) because Stuart was such an amazing musician and showman. Whatever, they were never the same w/o him. Hope he s happy now. Cheers.
Stu Morrow was NMA! Most agressive punchy bass playing ever: see the Christian Milita/ Smalltown England vid on YouTube from, funnily enuf, The Tube circa 1983/4.... if you think your Unc was hero then you know he was/is when you see that. Send him my regards and tell him Smalltown England changed me fro a waster to someone who at least tried! All the best nephew!
Hi Michael! Just in case you're not tired of hearing it, your uncle was/is a bloody brilliant bass player. The times I've played along to those songs....
Cheers Sham-man for posting this sweet little bugger. I had the video 'til some twat half-inched it. I remember it had Ambition (unlike myself) and The Attack amongst others on it. The Morrow man hit the G-Spot every time!
Vette shit.Groeten uit The Haque.Holland.

definitely the best nma song ever!
i'd like to have the bass tabs or at least the chords of this - if anybody has some, please let me know!

The best person to ask is moose harris himself. He is right here on youtube. Look on my subcription page on the left and click on him.
sham64andahalf 3 years ago
Again, thats the replacement to Stuart, so asking him probably won't help, unless he learned the song for live shows.

Many songs of him were against drugs but he looks a bit junkie in this concert, however, i really admire him and his original and agressive music.

Ooooh, fantastic stuff, thanks for posting.
This must be shortly before Stuart left, he didn't play with them at Glasto in '85.
They just weren't the same after he left, he was such an awesome musician.
I was lucky enough to live in Bradford in the early 80s (on the same road as Rob), god knows how many times I saw them gig.
