  • great

  • thanks chef!

  • nice entry...u remembered me of rajanikant..

  • In Mexico we made a drink called "agua de tamarindo" (tamarind water) you just boil some water with a lot of tamarind then strain the tamarind juice, and then add more water, sugar and stirr. Then add some ice, and let it chill for a moment and you have a nice refreshing drink made from tamarind, and we have tamarind flavored sodas, but we don't use tamarind for cooking dishes, only for drinks and some candies like chilli tamarind.

  • im confused a bit ..... is tamarind tamarindo in spanish?

  • @sk8ingonfire Yes it is :)

  • correction: tamarind has *no* cholesterol; it's a plant!

  • @radicaltyro Plants can contain cholesterol too.

  • it takes 2 min to make why store, you can keep for 2 weeks in fridge

  • thank u !!!! i really wanted to know how to make that juice....can we store this on in the fridge for a long time ? like ginger garlic paste i mean...

  • My mom keeps it in the freezer. that way, it has a very long shelf life :-)

Before using you can scrape out how much is needed and either microwave it or keep it aside for a longer time to melt before using.

you can try and see for yourself.:-D
