After a bit of a fight and nearly throwing the damn thing out the window... I managed to format the phone and get an OS installed... Seems like it was having issues remaining connected to the phone which was causing the failures @ install. Thanks for the video.

Side note.. The latest update to the BB Desktop Software now has drivers for the USB connections allowing a # to be assigned to the phone connected in case of multiple phone connections/usage at the same time.

i am downloading the OS from a ''3-uk'' its my Service provider, i tried to download the OS thru the crackberry site which downloaded but i stil recieved the notification stating that i didnt have the device software downloaded by the apploader. if downloading the OS from the carrier doesnt work i dont know what will. It always stuck in the second process "wait for device initialization". And the device (8520) showing a battery that being crossed out on the screen. It does not matter which way I used, it always ended up in this situation. Any idea? and also, the pin is not unknown anymore, since I have done this step before and the bb pin has been recognized now. many thanks for everyone that could help me solving this problem.

@alanfit99 I have found the solution for my nuked BlackBerry Bold 9900 (i'm from the Netherlands). First download the firmware you want to put on your 9900. Second, run the .exe of this downloaded firmware and install it on your computer. After that, you have to locate the 2 vendor.xml files that are on your pc. One is in the AppLoader folder all the way at the bottom, the same folder where you also launched the App Loader from. The other one is at (see next comment)

If your wondering what that 10 ATTEMPT LOCK CODE thing is where you put your password and it doesn't work, basically don't use up 10 attempts as it will fuck up your blackberry as its the network lock code visit freemyblackberry 'unlock code' tab follow the instructions given READ CAREFULLY!! :-) hope that helped

If your seeing this video & your clicking program files & there is no research tab there, while running windows 7, cause the research tab is located in (program x86) files, from there follow through with the rest of the video tutorial, it really works, you just have to pull your battery, plug in your transfer usb, wait 5 seconds, then put the battery back in & hit next next next & load ur operating system from scratch. Works for all wipes, verizon unlocked t mobile sim card transitions & ect..

Hi. please help... when i do this ...and it recognizes my pin my next screen says that the software manager does not have a software update for my phone it wont show anything like yours at @2:05 thanks...
