Hi, you have to use outside speakers of some kind. But for best results try to use studio monitors. And yes u can use it with your laptop. Send me a message with more detailed info about your laptop.
can anyone tell me the difference between the gold bundle gearbox and the toneport ux2? which one is more worth it? is it like a difference between software, because i know the hardware is different but i mean besides the 30 dollar difference is there really a major difference? and whats a better purchase?
Hey juca.. I am looking into buying one of these toneport things with the gear box software. I have enough money to get the tone port with the midi key board to because i love to make all kinds of music.. i figured to get one with the most features. BUT there is the gear box gold package with a bunch of guitar amps instead of the midi interface as i play guitar too. I'm not sure which one i should get.
Hi, in order to have drums in software at the same time with the plugin you'll need some sort of Daw, software like cubase, logic, pro tools. I hope this help, otherwise pm me ;)
Great video... thanks. I had a guitar port and gave it away. I played it through a PC and I did not like it. Now I have an IMAC and going to buy some quality speakers... I think I will buy another guitar port. I have a zoom g7 right now and a 50 watt valveking, which can not be used in an apartment. Thanks again. JUCA must mean "awesome guitarist" in Portuguese!
hi there I see you use GearBox so I guess ur familiar w Line6. I'm a newbie to tube amps so I'm planning on buying the PodX3Pro rig first -instead of a single real head- as soon as it gets released (sept 4). It comes w 78 amps & a bunch of cabs! -Powerball, Dual/Triple recs, etc
Many people lash out at amp modeling but 4instance I have the GTR3 plugin and that thing has an amazing stomp box!
What do you think of the Line6 amp&cab modeling -vs real tube amps?
I love guitarport, but it's different, I have to admitt. After playing a few hours with the Engl, the tubes give you that extra something... But if you can't afford a tube amp, go for software, the emulations are very good! I use it all the time to record guitars, so I don't have to mess around with mics. Plus it's very versatile. If you can have both...better!
hey man nice guitar playin and i dig ur engl amp it sounds class , quick question for u man , are u running ur gearbox software into ur amp clean channel ? i use guitar amplitube 2 software its class youtbe it to have a look , ok talk soon from ur irish friend ian
inafly: Hi, I have gearbox, amplitube 2 and guitar rig 3, they all sound very good. I run the gearbox on the Mac, trough line6 guitarport and Tannoy Bi-Amped studio monitors.
Great demo man! Very interesting... Looking into getting a Mac, and I'm assuming you are recording some of your stuff through GarageBand. Great playing and tone. Good job!
is gearbox just for efects or can i do actual recording with just the gearbox software and plug in?

Its just for effects. You need other software to record.

what are some good recording softwares then. thanks

You have Cubase, Sonar, Logic (just Mac) Pro Tools, etc...
I use Logic Pro 9 and Pro Tools LE. But remember, in order for GearBox to work inside any software you have to buy a license appart.

if it's standalone, then it's not a plugin !

you have to buy the plugin separate to work with your daw.
