never should have broke up...bens new drummer and bass player will never even come close to comparing in terms of how genius they are...jerrn and robert are the best
@Terp02 I had always wished they had just taken a break instead of breaking up. They were so tired from over-touring and they were just so beaten down at this point. Their record label was the true cause of the breakup. Non-stop pressure to go go go.
My god! Having seen snippets of Elton's 11/17/70 performance, this sent chills down my spine. If he were born 30 years sooner, he'd be a goliath. Amazing.
he changes it because first he can't say f*** on live tv and second thats what good musicans do they keep coming up with better ideas for the song... Ben Folds is brilliant plain and simple.
Why does Ben folds keep changing the words to this song. In the music video its, "son you must be high", in a different performace its"fuckin high" and in this one its "sublime high" or something"
this is the reason folds solo career will never match the way it used to be. that sounded 'exactly' as it does on the track, and its because its played exactly how it is recorded, unlike his songs now, where he records all the instruments seperatly, and then when he plays live it just isnt the same. but that there was ben folds i reckon at his best.
you are an idiot. live songs are supposed to sound different, thats what makes good live bands. if they just played it straight from the album, just go listen to the cds, thered be no point in seeing them live. you are musically retarded.
do u play an instrument? well if u do, u would no what it is like playing live, and the fact that it sounds different isnt because they play it different, but because it is so hard to get it to sound the same! the ability to get it to sound like your listening to the cd is amazing! People don't go because it is different, they go to see the band play! to be able to hear the songs being played straight from the instruments, and not from the cd, and the closer it sounds to the cd the more amazing!
actually, i play the piano, drums, and guitar. and yeah, its hard to replicate your recordings sure, but coming from a guy who has been to over a hundred different shows, ide much rather see a band play a song differently from the way on the record. if i wanted to hear the cd's recording, ide stay home and listen to the album. shut up seriously, you are an idiot, you dont know what your talking about, and get over it.
dude, calm down! the first comment i made was my opinion! as a pianist as well, personally i would much rather hear them play exactly as it sounds on the album, thats just what i prefer! now can you please drop it?? and you rally shouldnt call randoms on the internet idiots, it really makes you look bad. and btw, check out my vid of me playing 'philosophy', i know you prob hate me now, but as a music fan i wanna know what you think.
your right, ia m pretty agrressive and thats not cool. its just that you are soooo wrong its frustrating to read such stupid comments. your right it is an opinion, but hey paul mccartney is a better musician than britney spears. thats an opinion, but there is still "rights" and "wrongs"

The usual way he censors it for live is "son, you must be high", so I was thrown for a bit of a loop.

He does that so he doesn't get bleeped out every time he sings the song. And I'm pretty sure he says, "Oh so high" on this one.
