I expect a total of 50 characters for SSB4 (WiiU version), but since there's gonna be the 3DS version too, I think a great idea would be to have console content for the WiiU version, and "GameBoy" content for the 3DS version. If so, that'll open lots of possibilities, the perfect example would be the Legend of Zelda series: the WiiU version could have Skyward Link & Zelda (NO SHEIK) and Ghirahim. While the 3DS version could have the Ocarina of Time 3D characters: Young Link, Ganondorf and Sheik.

If it comes out before a new major Zelda title, I definetly want Ghirahim. He was fun, versatile, had an enormous range of attacks (And his final form could be a final smash), and he had a great personality. Plus, it'd be fun to hear his wierd speech bits and overdramatic gestures in taunts. XD

They should keep Ganondorf, as he's still iconic and the main villain of the series. As for Link, the skin idea is genius.

And wolf link would pretty much have the same move set as twilight princess and Grabbing would make Midna grab. And the final smash would have you use your energy field attack with Midna. My favorite Zelda/SSB idea: MM Link that plays like Pokemon Trainer from Brawl... a simple Down+B to transform from Link, to Deku Link, to Goron Link, to Zora Link, each with their own unique moves and advantages/disadvantages. For a Final Smash: 30 seconds to a minute running around as Fierce Deity Link and wreaking total havoc.
