  • Amazing

  • i love it!!!

  • VERY GOOD (!)

  • It's sooooooo great! Your movements are so beautiful. Together with the music, you can express the theme very well. I love watching this:)

  • Mindblown..

  • absolutely amazing. i could just feel the emotion! you are such a great dancer. thank you for sharing this! oh and don't worry i like the shoulder rolls :) haha

  • can you stand up or do you always fall? I mean I know it's on purpose but I mean really. -_-

  • Wonderful.

  • this was absolutely beautiful. stunning.

  • your lines are beautiful :) subbed.

  • I'm a paid dancer for a contemporary dance company and i can tell all of these most likely competition school dancers that REAL dance isn't about just the choreography but the execution, and this dancer felt what the piece meant to her and made something of it. If all you could focus on was the amount of shoulder rolls, then you're missing out on the beautiful meaning and reason for dancing. Beautiful music choice too, Aphex Twin is one of my favorites

  • wow. I wish I could dance like you. (=

  • your quailty is lovely, but the choreography looks too much like class exercises with a constant shoulder rolls, fish flops and extensions. if the choreography was changed so that it could still use those elements, but approach them differently it would be a lot more interesting. a good example is be the first 30 seconds. Great work!

  • This is really pretty, i just think that if she had a dress on or something to go with the song, it would look complete.

  • Lovely piece, beautifully performed and wonderful material, did you choreograph this yourself? where did the ideas come from? lovely to watch :) and i agree with gumbionics, the shoulders rolls are very effective :)

  • This is beautiful!

  • i think you had some gorgeous lines! Very Cool

  • Don't let the naysayers about those shoulder rolls bring you down. If anyone has ever taken a class on choreography then you would know repetition can be used for cohesion and as a motif.

IT WORKS HERE. She is not just throwing them in whenever, the rolls make sense and happen with an amazing natural flow as a means of travelling around the floor.

Most of these people whining are used to baseless contemporary choreography that has a ton of elements thrown in with no thought, this was art.

  • @gumbionics this was absolutely art! its art by the way she approaches it in her performance. and as one of those naysayers, i love shoulder rolls and I use them often in my own work. It's just that shoulder rolls are one of the most common contemporary movements, it's become signature to contemporary work and is not as powerful as it used to be, more expected. There is lots of other really good interesting new movement here, just not the shoulder rolls.

  • wow :D

  • I love this choreography

  • AMAZING

  • Beautiful! I can watch this over and over again :)

  • I dance with Kyla for some years, she is stunning as a dancer and person, now with a ballet company. =]

  • I danced with Kyla for some years she is stunning now the a ballet company....such a beautiful person and dancer!!!!

  • speechless(: you are amazingly talented!.

  • Thats beautiful. The first time a dance solo has ever made me cry :')

  • Just lovely.

  • I loved this, she dances beautifully, i just wish the music went better

  • awesome!

  • 0:27 beautiful line..love this piece cannot believe I found 2 good ones tonight and both danced by the same dancer. this is contemporary I love. who did you study with?

  • ive been watching contemporary videos all night, first one to make me smile.

  • she's dancing,asswipe.

    It was beautiful. So Talented!

  • @bluechocolate13 hahah thats what i thought

  • For your information, she is an extremely gifted contempory dancer, and if you cannot see that- which you clearly can't, then i suggest you keep your mouth shut. This is an excellent piece of coreography and it is danced with poise and beauty. Please, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

  • is the music by aphex twin ?

  • she moves in and out of the floor so beautifuly

  • My faaavourite studio at WAAPA. This is beautiful.

  • So this be the very sound of 2 people walking in the rain. Holding on. Saying goodbye. A sound of cheerful laughs, yet knowing that the moment of seperation is moving closer for each step they take. Again. As before. A sound of what they had and what could've been. What they somewhere, somehow still have. Just less. A sound of 2 people kissing in the rain. Silence. Tenderness. A kiss of goodbye. A sound of me missing you. The sound of me and you. This be the very sound of letting go...

  • really beautiful.

    who is playing piano??

  • i love how her dancing was like words. It was really clear to me what she meant especially at the very end. Its especially relatable in my opinion. And well done :)

  • lovely! loved the begining

  • i loved this!!!

    you have such beautiful lines!!

    keep on dancing x

  • The world is ull of morons who criticize what they don't know!

    Beautiful dance beautiul music!

  • im not a huge fan of this... for me it was OK , not that spectacular

  • lovely

  • I really liked this, i love the choreo, I'm so sick and tired of ballet trained dancers calling this style "not dance" well, i say show em 2 fingers and carry on, this was great. Reminded I'm not attacking any ballet trained dancers just saying they should be more open minded.

  • i dont think that. but i know what you mean. i took a modern class at one of my friends studios and my ballet teacher from the studio i take ballet in got upset with me for trying it out. lol. it kinda ppissed me off

  • i understand what you're saying and myself being ballet trained it is frustraiting when i see beautifully choroegraphed modern or contemporary dances and dancers being unnapreciated but i also think that what most people think is modern dance is actually just movement and no technique. now with Limone style or Grahm there is technique that is to be appreciated but when i see new dancers now in our generation just moving without technique or purpose it does get frustrating.

  • This was great, but too many fish flops.

  • this was terriable sorry

  • beautiful! very inspiring

  • FINALLY!

    A modern/contemporary dance solo worth watching :))

I am so bored with all these solos classified as modern/cont and there are pointshoes and ballet skirts and arabesques and turned out pirouettes etc

This was beautiful, choreography was really nice and fitted music, and the dancer did a really great job.

I hope you are still creating pieces, I would love to see more floor work and use of weight, especially with the upper body/head leading the movement but great job!

  • i absoultely love this piece .

  • gr8 choreography......hope i can dance like this some day!!

  • 0:28 wicked!

    this was awsome :)

  • wow i am very impressed that was beautiful! I also got some huge chills! I am totally speachless. Well done!

  • o my god this is freaking amazing. she's so expressive and beautiful. i got chills from watching this because thats how great she is. great coreography and she danced is beautifully!!! =)

  • I love this so much! So beautiful!

  • ooooooooooooooohh love this

  • This gave me that feeling in my stomache like love and sharp rocks swirling around together. Enjoyed it.

  • I like the deformed arabesque

  • seriously, how many times can one do a shoulder roll?

  • four. not including fish flop or forward roll. could've been worse.

  • @aliceleeholland HAHAAHAHAHA

  • seriously, how many times can a classical dancer do an arabesque in a variation?

  • Never too many times.

  • what is the music ? beautiful ideas and technique

  • "Avril 14" by Aphex Twin. Glad you liked :)

  • This really is amazing :)

  • bit too obvious

  • that looks like so much fun!!!

  • that dance is amazing!! the choreography is just great.

Kyla Moore! woah! her lines are amazing and her suspension is woah!

    10/10

  • Woow, this is really nice!

  • amazing video))

  • this is pure beauty, really powerful piece, i often come back to it for inspiration for my own dance :) lush comtemporary style x

  • Really gorgeous dance & lines! love it!

  • This is wonderful. I love your technique.

  • Nice! :)

  • What a fantastic dancer.

  • her lines are perfect love it

  • your studio is wicked!

    it's so white

  • really really nice. i'm just finishing my A level in contempory dance and i think that there needs to be one section where you stay at a high level. but it is still a really lovely peice of work.

  • does someone know the name of that beautiful song?.....

  • Avril 14th by Aphex Twin

  • thank u :-)

  • great gerat gerat, good techniqe:))

    You're very strech:))

    I lve 'you' and song:))

    COngratulations:))

  • i loved ur lines and hold on the extensions was fab!

    bravo!

  • i love this.

    its amazing.

my favorite style of dance ever!

    :]

    its beautiful :D

    1:05 - 1:15 is amazing

    x

  • So beautiful I loved it!

    bravo

  • hey sweetheart beautiful preformance quality ur body and the way u move is lovely but repitition is too much shoulder rolls and the extentions in a row u seem to be able to feel the music well so just let urself go and fall in love with the movements

  • I'm nearing the end of my degree now and I think this is a very good piece for the stage you are probably at; regardless of music choices (whatever-music here's great) your body moves very, very nice and neat here and it's a wonderful performance. Maybe you could have 'let go' more? x Feels like just the right length too, well done.

  • watching it again, I can't actually tell how old you are so hope that post isn't too patronising, sorry if it is.

  • wow, i love the fall at 0:41. it's so cool. i'd be way to scared to try, lol.

  • pff.. i always see the same movements over and over again.. it's boring me big time!

    performance is great though..

  • u guys should see to girls dancing from the dance studio i go to theyre really good im in theyre competition class

the song for the video is called follow your dreams and its two girls dancing in a white costume

    its posted by dancer677

  • i liked it but take my advice cuz ive been dancing since i was 2 and im 15

dont do so many fish rolls i dont know if thats what u call them but its the thing where flip backwards over oyr sshoulder

thats wat iwas told it was called

not that u dont do them good but u do to many of them

other than that it was really good.

  • WOW THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL! so pretty but gloomy, i felt it.

  • what i don't like from most contemporary choreographers is the use of the music; the piece is not based on the music, not following the tempo. why?

  • using music does not equal following the tempo. there are different ways of interpretting the music. through the atmosphere it gives or the direction it pushes you in. you can still make perfectly good use of the music by for instance standing still when the music demands that you move in a quick tempo. it gives contrast in your work. there is alot more to it. but to little space to explain :)

  • In contemporary dance its not about following the beat of the music, there are many ways to follow the music, but staying with the tempo or beat is intirely your own choice. I do contemporary dance and its my favourite dancing, i find that you can choose any music? and its your own decision to stay to the tempo or not, i just think it add flavour in a way because most dances always follow beats or tempo and contemporary is just letting your self go. well i find it like that.

  • Wow amazing...i love it.......really reaaallyyy awesome :)

  • gorgeous...

  • Love it!

  • it's amazing...

  • Well I thought it was awesome.

  • what song is this?

  • Avril 14 by Aphex Twin

  • as for me there is too much gymnastic in it...(

  • It's not gymnastic. Floor work/ inversion is very common in contemporary modern. In gymnastic, there is no transitions. You should look into dance scenes in Utah, New York, even Los Angeles. Just FYI if you're not familiar with contemporary modern.

  • This is a beautiful dance.

Im doing GCSE dance, and i have to do a solo. So i would love to know what the song is called.

    Please reply (:

  • so graceful

    so beautiful

    i love it

  • the grace and beauty is astounding. who is the dancer??

  • I think Kyla Moore

  • this is such a beautiful dance

i think im using this music for my solo piece

    lovellly

  • Wow this made me tear up.

    Beautiful =]

  • this was beautiful. I think you did a wonderfull job with this piece. Your movements are so continuous and seem to have no end. Your dinamics are also amazing. Great job. I would love to see more work :)

  • hey there bryceym1 - it's "avril 14th" by Aphex Twin! Glad you liked the piece!

  • just beautiful

  • this is such a beautiful dance, i love it! i wish i could learn something just as good in new york.

  • I couldn't take my eyes of her the whole time. Bravo!!

  • i really enjoyed watching this piece. very emotive, and i love the way the floor squeeked it shows a rawness to the dance. well done!

  • Tout simplement magnifique. Une gestuelle maitrisée au bout des doigts!

  • that was gorgeous. congratulations on it.

  • i think that that floor is too hard for dancing, also it looks like it's covered with some plastic material...

  • this is actually really good! well done!

  • it was really beautiful

  • I really like this piece, It's so inspirating for me, because in my country we don't have a really serius Contemporary school...

    thanks for this video...

  • that was SO good.

1:02 and at the end looked painful though, great you didnt show it! shame about the squeaky bits:L

  • this is beautiful- i really like the song and you have really good devellopes. it seems a little posey, and so many backrolls... but I'm no expert on choreography. nice job =)

  • i liked it the movement, u have great technique and control. But it seems like ur holding back and ur performance is lacking. it was still a really powerful peice though. :)

  • Beautiful

  • beautful extensition

watch the fish the first two times

it could use more control and less...flop

  • Aw that was good! Very controled!

  • Heyy...X

Amazing Choreography & She's An Amazing Dancer.

    I Love It!!

  • Liked. favorited. thank you

  • sorry but i think i have to agree with feeee4... this music is far too "pretty" to do such a powerful dance routine to. You have nice extensions but look up convey emotion with that movement and with your eyes

  • Could anyone tell me what music they're using? Or was it specifically composed for this dance?

  • Nevermind (should've read lower)

  • its avril 14th by aphex twin

    i love this song

  • hey"awayinadream" i'm doing GCSE dance and i really can't find any sort of flowing piano free music .. you got any??

  • haha! im fortunately no:/ that's exactly what im looking for!

best thing to do is listen to film soundtracks because themusic in them is always full of emotion. erm, pearl harbour has some good stuff, and generally just search the internet! also your dance teacher will have loads of music for you to listen to.! :D

    x

  • that was amazing!

if anyone can tell me what the music is called it'd be much appreciated, i'd like to use it for my GCSE choreography, thankyou so much

  • hey - it's "avril 14th" by Aphex Twin. They do heaps of great stuff.

  • thankyou soo much :D

    xx

  • Like it but i think its too much movement to this slow music

  • I really like the message of this dance. The dance itself is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful job.

  • Oh.. I Really like this... Beautiful..

  • I was in complete awe. A wery emotional and inspiring dance. Simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

  • so beautiful, controled and simpley breathtaking

  • Breathtaking

  • Avril 14th - it's by Aphex Twin

  • thx

  • who is dancing?

  • Kyla Moore - now studying in Munich.

  • very pretty dance.

  • really nice solo.

i think there were a few parts that maybe could have been more fluid or let the music and movement combine more.

    did this have a stimulus?

really nice piece and enjoyable to watch

  • she's very good and the choreographer used well the linkage of movement.

  • There are some movements in this piece that are absolutely breathe taking like the penché into into the écarté tilt.

  • I LOVE THIS!!

    wonderful movement.
