Or it could just be that blacks are lazy motherfuckers and asians work their asses off from dusk till dawn. I see it everyday in my neighboorhood. The blacks are up till 2-3-4am playing music and drinking, then sleep till 2-3-4 pm. Where as the asian folks are up and gone at the crack of dawn till sunset working the whole time. It's called work ethic...get some if you wanna get somewhere.
Blacks should send goodwill envoys out to the Asian American communities to learn how they do it. No shame-- the Japanese in the Middle Ages did it, sent goodwill parties to China and Korea to learn from them. But once they got the info, they didn't just sit. They took what worked and built it into their culture. Nothing lost, everything gained. Japanese are still very unique culturally, but they borrowed. In fact--pretty much all successful races borrow. It's how the world works.
I'm gonna tell you what I'm gonna do . . . I'm gonna go over there and give those Koreans some mo of my money . . . fuck out my way . . .god dam its Milla Time mutha fucka . . . . . . . . EPIC!!!!
Spike need to Do The Right Thing and make a film about Dr. Claude Anderson, Marcus Garvey, Amos Wilson and Chancellor Williams if he want to make a statement about Black Businesses and Economic Empowerment, or the lack thereof! Having a couple of Wine O's sitting on the stoop complaining is not helpful! More Solutions is what's needed! Stop Making Excuses and Start Making Progress!
I think since the 60's and 70's Blacks have been distracted from the need to emphasize business ownership for reducing poverty because the Black agenda became overly focused on gov't wealth redistribution. Black leaders and intellectuals felt that the "cure" for Black poverty was to increase welfare programs. This thinking trickled down to the general Black population. So when Blacks see a Black ghetto the thinking isn't for more Black investment but more gov't programs.
This was a good article on this. Black-American spending power is close to 1 trillion dollars now. So we have alot of money. It's just a matter of channeling those dollars to benefit our businesses more.
@CrowdPleeza One of the worst things that could happen. Even though Martin Luther King had a dream, I hated it. I really don't care for MLK. Yes, he got whites and other non-blacks to understand black struggles, but that was it. Integration ruined black businesses during that time.
WOW!! Funny how spike is attacking that tired attitude that blacks always portray that someone owe's them something, and are so willing to sit around and wait for someone to give it to them instead of working for what you want and making it happen. Plus the race card of "it's because I am Black......" WOW!!!
That may have been funny but that's exactly what's happening right in our communities! The Koreans/ Asians are not going for individualism as taught here in USA but doing things collectively! Did you notice that this is done mostly with their own unique families and their own kind before 1st dealing with anyone else? That's not racism that's just plain common sense! Even the very wealthy will bring their families to the forefront in their businesses before taking on anyone else! Wouldn't you?
This is the sad truth in Black communities all over the country. It's time to take action and begin to build and establish businesses NOW.
We must understand that collectively we determine and are responsible for the success or failure of Black businesses according how much we spend with them.

Anyone can have a store if they're willing to work 14 hours a day and make $12 an hour with no overtime.
The avertage independent store owner lives hand-to-mouth. Korean grocers are not tycoons.

@visionimagify Sad to say, that is partially true. That is what polished off Greenwood Tulsa (Black wall street).
