As a professional horse trainer myself this is not training. This is absolute bullshit. The cats are responding to the handlers properly. Its the handlers that ARE NOT and DO NOT have fucken clue as to what they are doing or why. Can't blame a tiger for being a tiger now can we? We can however blame these people for being ASSHOLES. This method of non snatch food training can never work!! Every time the animal snatches the food he is reinforced (gets the food) and the reinforcement will always be stronger than the punishment (smack) the word no here does NOTHING! What an excuse for training!

JUST FYI PETA shot video everyday for 18 MONTHS and all they had was less that 5 min of "abuse" footage.. after investigations by USDA,Florida Fish and Game Commission, Florida Department of Education and the Seminole County State Attorney's Office they were cleared of charges... on a funny note, peta also lost this case on "JUDGE JUDY"! LOL.. so like i said, to someone that has never worked with cats, they don't know what is going on, and that peta edited almost 2yrs of footage to get 5 min.
ok i see i need to educate the people here.. up until they were walking the lion there was ZERO abuse at all!!!!!!! it is obvious nobody here has worked with exotics.. the slapping and light hitting(if you can call it that) is not abuse nor does it even HURT the cat.. if you have ever seen cats play they slap each other MUCH harder.. the human slap is only to get it's attention. the pulling the leopard on the chain is no different than teaching a stubborn puppy to walk on a leash...
if you let them lay down and YOU stop you are teaching the animal(any animal) it does not have to listen to you and that IT is in control..ANY trainer will tell you that.. now to the walking these guys had ZERO reason to hit the animal with a safety stick.. none at all! that was abuse.. the ONLY time a safety stick should be used like that is if the animal is getting far too rough or aggressive, hence the name "safety stick!!!!!!!

Well, that is true because personally, I do not want to. They have no right to cause physical harm to the animal. Humans shouldn't beable to work with wild animals hands on because that leads to accidents, deaths and so forth. You make it sound liek they're doing it out of love and compasion. Well, they obviously think they are superiour are have the power to abuse that animal because it is eating it'd food NATURALLY.
A big cat will eat aggresively and fast so there isnt a chance of their meal being stolen. These instincts stick with them and you can't slap them out of them!

That is believe able because dogs are a common house hold pet! The one this people like you dont understand that it's taken thousands of years to domesticate cats and dogs. They still have natural insticts and behaviours that we'll neve take away from them.
So obviously, a tiger isn't going to become domesticated within a year. There are tons more dogs as pets then exotic animals aswell, so that is a main reason why it's such a large number.

This was filmed a long time ago; circuses also have changed dramatically since this was taken. There are still 5 animal circuses in the UK. The largest one is the Great British Circus that is owned by Government Registered Wild Animal Trainer Mr. Martin Lacey Snr. He is one of the best in the field of wild animal husbandry in the world.
I don't know about America but in the UK circuses are no longer allowed to use ANY animals in their shows. The people get sent to prison and fined thousands if they are found with animals. Least our country has done something right for once LOL

A circus travels. For this it needs trailers, not just for the animals but also for the artists to life in. Some circusses don't use a big top, but animals are kept togheter on one lot. I can't see more trailers and paddocks for animals backstage. So clearly it is a lie that these are circus animals.

I don't know where this movie was made... but this is not how it is done here... the animals in the shows that I have worked with, are trained with love... not this horrible treatment... my lions used to sleep in my caravan, on my bed... so please don't generalise and say that all circus people are scum... thanks

The training methods used for big cats in circuses is horrible and inhuman. It is intinctive for big cats to behave how they do and no amount of "Training" changes that.

this type of training does not exist in most circuses anymore as love and care towards animals is top priority. There is still a lot of cruelty in traveling shows but the majority of circuses like this are in South America, Central America, China/Japan and parts of Europe e.g. Germany and France
that is just not true i can only speak for circuses in germany cause i´ve seen the terrible conditions the animals live in there circus animals need to be forbidden !!
But this doesn't mean that all circuses in these parts are cruel and barbaric as there are some very well run circuses. E.g. Circus Krone in Germany is Europe's largest traveling circus and their Big Cat trainer is one of the best in the World regarding welfare, conservation and treatment towards his Lions and Tigers. Their trainer is The Great Martin Lacey Jr.
It's slightly more time consuming to train an animal humanly and more and more european circuses are following this practice now. You are also able to train obedience in an elephant without torture, but I must admit it's not the most favored method.

JUST FYI PETA shot video everyday for 18 MONTHS and all they had was less that 5 min of "abuse" footage.. after investigations by USDA,Florida Fish and Game Commission, Florida Department of Education and the Seminole County State Attorney's Office they were cleared of charges... on a funny note, peta also lost this case on "JUDGE JUDY"! LOL.. so like i said, to someone that has never worked with cats, they don't know what is going on, and that peta edited almost 2yrs of footage to get 5 min.

if you let them lay down and YOU stop you are teaching the animal(any animal) it does not have to listen to you and that IT is in control..ANY trainer will tell you that.. now to the walking these guys had ZERO reason to hit the animal with a safety stick.. none at all! that was abuse.. the ONLY time a safety stick should be used like that is if the animal is getting far too rough or aggressive, hence the name "safety stick!!!!!!!

the reason they are slapping the cat is the way it is taking the meat. it is snapping at the meat or using a force bite. not good, it is one of the main causes of lost fingers and hands.when the cat bites fast, it doesn't distinguish between the "food" and the fingers, thus leading to an accident. they simply want the cat to take the food gently. does it make sense now? if you have any questions let me know

So obviously, a tiger isn't going to become domesticated within a year. There are tons more dogs as pets then exotic animals aswell, so that is a main reason why it's such a large number.
I don't need to "train" some animal to know something about this. I spend hours on end researching and reading about the topic.
I must point out when the leopard being pulled by a chain tied 'round his/her neck colapses, they beat it with a stick. I think that's what you so called 'trainers' call training.

You don't know that I couldn't point that out trainer or not. I could have a very good ear or study lions for a living. Honestly, you do NOT have to be a trainer to be able to tell two similar noises apart. I could be a lion expert, etc.

It's the same in every business, there are good ones and there are bad ones and this is showing you that the same applies in Circuses.
This was filmed a long time ago; circuses also have changed dramatically since this was taken. There are still 5 animal circuses in the UK. The largest one is the Great British Circus that is owned by Government Registered Wild Animal Trainer Mr. Martin Lacey Snr. He is one of the best in the field of wild animal husbandry in the world.

A circus travels. For this it needs trailers, not just for the animals but also for the artists to life in. Some circusses don't use a big top, but animals are kept togheter on one lot. I can't see more trailers and paddocks for animals backstage. So clearly it is a lie that these are circus animals.

this type of training does not exist in most circuses anymore as love and care towards animals is top priority. There is still a lot of cruelty in traveling shows but the majority of circuses like this are in South America, Central America, China/Japan and parts of Europe e.g. Germany and France

But this doesn't mean that all circuses in these parts are cruel and barbaric as there are some very well run circuses. E.g. Circus Krone in Germany is Europe's largest traveling circus and their Big Cat trainer is one of the best in the World regarding welfare, conservation and treatment towards his Lions and Tigers. Their trainer is The Great Martin Lacey Jr.

It's slightly more time consuming to train an animal humanly and more and more european circuses are following this practice now. You are also able to train obedience in an elephant without torture, but I must admit it's not the most favored method.
