The goal to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade was no small feat and succeeded; his conservative monetary policies were good; but his lack of courage that led to the Bay of Pigs fiasco and bartering away our military power towards Cuba (the missile crisis achieved what the communists hoped it would) and the stupidity of replacing France in a losing war in Southeast Asia means his modern popularity will wane in history.

First of all, JFK was a great man and president.
Second of all, it is true, America did some very bad things in its past. Lied, broke treaties, capitalized at the expense of other people and cultures, you can not escape these facts.
Most importantly now is, learn from our past and MOVE ON. We can not change the past, PERIOD. But we can learn from it, it's not easy obviously since so many mistakes are always repeated, but, nether the less, that should be an important goal.

When black slavery was at it's peak it was the black leaders in Africa that sold out their own people to the slave traders. Tthe slave traders came from every race not just the "whites". The Whites did not make the tribes, and what European colonial official do you think would come up with the names Hutu, and Tutsis? (The name is not tootsies) The problem obviously was not that they were separated, but that to rival tribes were forced into the same country. However that is no excuse for genocide, and is the fault of the African tribes not "White" people.

The most recent scandal about the "missing" original videos of Apollo 11 should serve as a huge wakeup call. Who loses original vidoes of the most important moment in the history of mankind? We were told the videos were sent to the national archives, then when they went looking for them to "prove" their mission did indeed happen all of a suddent the videos don't seem to exist anymore. Also recently the story about a museum in Europe that discovered its one and only moon rock was a fake.

A weak President is a threat to the power structure because the US power was being turned over to the USSR & Communism. The blunder at the Bay of Pigs poor performance in Vienna led to the Berlin Wall being built & his unwillingness to stand up to the USSR in Berlin led to the Cuban Missile Crisis. In Vietnam Kennedy sanctioned the overthrow of the Diem the Roman Catholic President because he was worried Diem might negotiate a peace treaty with the communists. Weakness and war mongering indeed

Yes I did. So he had mistresses, so what? There's no proof he slept with Monroe. Cuban missile crisis he prevented a war. Vietnam war it's uncertain whether he would have sent in more troops. The main reason was that thousands of doctors, teachers, engineers, and all of the educated public had left East Germany causing a "brain drain". It was built to prevent more of them from leaving.
