  • ok, that was autocorrect, I meant SIMBA

  • grown-up samba is hot

  • How hard is it to make a Timone costume... I mean he's shaped like a human. I don't think they needed to make him a puppet just so he would be 8% smaller.

  • @LadyLizard86 The costume designers wanted him smaller of course, so they did this. It is, however, because they wanted energy to come from the actors- not just in the form of a costume, but in size, action, movement, etc.

  • I'm seein this in June:)

  • I love this so much but.. fail high five 3:04 :P

  • You can still see Simba holding the grub after 'eating' it, but the growing up transition more than makes up for it :D

  • @SeraphicBlue9 He only takes ony bite, that's why :P

  • @freddyblue50 I know. That messed it up for me lol.

  • why was the guy who operated Timon green ? He stood out so much

  • i saw this young simba he was fab :)

  • I love Simba's dreads

  • There's a LOT of conflicting imagery in this musical. I mean, You've got the main character who have to move around and sing a lot. Their outfits are 'toned down' more and have more classically African imagery..... then you've got characters like the Hyenas and Timon and Pumba who... still look cartoony and brightly colored Disney. It sort of clashes.

  • That is so freakin' cool how older Simba came in! I gotta go see that musical someday.

  • I saw the Lion King a few years ago and I just remember that I loved the way older Simba came on. I didn't know it was going to happen so when it did I loved it :'D

  • My favorite part was the transition between the young Simba and the older Simba... it completely surprised me and it was so flawless :)

  • how does tamon know what chicken tastes like lol

  • Everytime i see this show i always wait for the bit when the Older Simba comes in coz it's such an amazing moment :) I fink andile gumbi is perfect for the role of adult Simba!!

  • Older simba's entrance was really cool! Wish I could go and see this!

  • I saw this show when I was eight or nine years old. I'm 20 now and it feels strange watching all these scenes over again. The only scenes I remember well are the stampede, Mufasa dying and the water draining from the lake. But then again...maybe the reason I can't remember this show well is because I've seen at least six other Broadway shows after this one. Wicked was definitely the best one I've seen. :)

  • I kinda wish Older Simba would do a stage slide instead of a rope swing... but it's okay :D

  • i love this song !!!!!

  • can someone tell me the instruments wich are used for this song

  • Did anyone else hear those clicks towards the end with Adult Simba?

  • Just saw this today in London. It was absolutely fantastic! I just wish I could see it over and over again :)

  • @gyspygitana Just interested - do you think the older Simba is the right choice? I mean the casting. He has an amazing voice, no doubt, but I imagined Simba to be wayyyyyy different. Btw, I also saw the show today:)

  • @ZeGiesha I'm not sure. Amazing voice, yes. But sometimes his actions were a bit spastic for me. Plus I was too blown away by Rafiki and the understudy for Mufasa to really notice anything else.

  • @gyspygitana Fair enough - I felt as if some of his actions were underacted, and some of them were overacted, if that makes sense. But yes - Rafiki was... to die for:)

  • Who plays simba in dis hes a very gud singer

  • who is the one playin timon? please if anybody knows let me know ;)

  • do you have the whole show up for a trade?

  • Timon the jolly green giant is following you! Run!

  • Okay, this is just horrendous! A fat man in green controlling a bad Timon puppet. Why can't it just be a man in a Timon costume?! And the kid playing Simba doesn't even look like a lion cub. He looks like Mowgli or something.

    This show looks very disappointing.

  • @ToxicTurquoise454 Its actually extremely beautiful if you have a chance to go! They made a point to always be able to see the human even though they are playing animals when they were making the show. Timon is a japanese styled puppet, the guy in green is supposed to be "Invisible".

  • @ToxicTurquoise454

You have to see the play, just like Bloodywanker said...hell there is even a guy controlling a Zazu puppet-only thing is, the character controlling Zazu is wearing a purple suit, but the main focus is Zazu, just like with the Timon puppet.

I forgot the real name of the Japanese puppet shows, but its like the Timon puppet, your not suppose to focus on the puppeteer, just the puppet.

As for Simba, he's not in "full costume" as with young Nala.

  • @Sirvikrail I just cant understand why they couldn't just wear normal costumes. Pumbaa looks okay. But Timon's puppeter is distracting, especially as he's actually much larger than the puppet. And it wouldn't take much to improve Simba, he could wear a set of lion ears, a lion nose, a furry waistcoat, and glove paws. It isn't much but it would look much more professional, not to mentional adorable.

  • @ToxicTurquoise454 theyre trying to keep the african culture :)

  • @ToxicTurquoise454 You understand the idea of 'suspension of disbelief' right? /they don't have to [nor are they trying to] look as convincing an animal as possible - Because they'd just look silly..I mean, Timone in a wooly Timone costume? C'mon, he'd look more human, and less like a meerkat, it'd be ridiculous lol. The costumes and puppets are beautiful and its not hard to see the characters.

  • I duunn this just doesn't seem that good to me. The rest of the play is awesome. This just seems...off

  • @edwardjosephoshea dont worry, its really much better than it seems in video. its reall much better in person. believe me, this is honestly one of my favorite numbers from the play.

  • the ultimate fur-suits.

  • i went backstage and met them :) they look completely different wihtout make-up and costume hahha i didnt even notice them :p

  • Im sorry but i cant stand this with the british accent it doesnt give the african vibe

  • @mentalmonkeymania i just think of it as this is during the british occupation of africa.

  • do you get done for filming?

  • No, seriously.

Pretend that the white thing is a joint and watch the rest of the scene. Looks like they are stoned.

  • 2:43

Timon offering Simba a joint. DAMN YOU

  • lol i love pumba i actualy played pumba in a play it was fun

  • the young simba goes to my school

  • @mickwho123 Cool ! :D

  • @mickwho123 wow cool

  • @mickwho123 u wish

  • @mickwho123 yeah i saw that program on CBBC, it was like School for Stars and hes on there!

  • I saw this show a few weeks ago. The part where older Simba comes in was absolutely amazing. Has to be one of my favorite highlights of the show.

  • its changed so much since i went to see it but then again that was 5 years ago

  • I saw this :) it was amazing!

  • The guy in the Timon suit was amazing, but who the hell was that green guy following him around?

  • @RX8dragon no timon is a puppet and the green guy is controling him and his is green because he is soposed to look like the jungle background

  • I was at the Lyceum Theatre in London on the 16th June 2010 watching this show and it was incredible for words - making me want to see it again - AND see more productions. I just love theatre and music and drama so much!

  • they could have made Timon's costume better.

  • ILLEGAL VIDEO!!! ;)

  • Did Pumbaa say: Evey time that I fu...?

  • @manugra100 "Everytime that I fa.." as in farted =P

  • when i saw this they had a kid simba, teenage simba, and adult simba.... but then again i live in australia...

  • Uploaded on my birthday.

The Lion King is the movie that will NEVER get old, and these guys are still proving it. I love this movie, the soundtrack, the actors, and this video.

  • Pumba is played by my old drama teacher at a weekend theatre school David Stoller! LOVE YOU DAVID!

  • i love they guys

  • me encanta ¡¡¡¡¡

  • What language are the words Hakuna Matata in? Spanish?

  • @flipflopgirl8 it's in Swahili I believe.

  • Pumbaa is so cute :D I love how the plants died :D

    This song is so classic!

  • So glad someone was able to get a video of the performance :oD

  • are they wearing microphones? i can't see them? however, they sing really well! this play is very good!

  • Mikeride101 yes they do, I am White and I am auditioning for young nala when the spit is free. I did the casting submission form and all. But they use special make up to make you look more African. But they want to also show your real skin.

  • i love how they do the age transition i was wondering how that was gunna work

  • I love how they do the child to adult transition!

  • MY FAV SONG IN THE HOLE SHOW!

  • its our problem free.

  • Why is Timone's actor green?

  • @heathersvan i think he's suppost to blend in to the surroundings.

  • @Truenarutopower89 Ahh I do say, I think you are correct!

  • @HeavyLoverMetal yeah... i didn't like the accent in one of the other songs he was singing.. :-/ But I love British people.

  • @HeavyLoverMetal that's racist! What's wrong with the british? We're just people! No different to you apart from a few tiny things like beliefs and accent

  • who is playin' Timon and Pumba?

  • Adult simba is fiiiine

  • fart

  • its not the same : /

  • so who ever is talking for them played as them?

  • @boracideify yeah

  • why the hell is timon green?

  • @MrBoobs457 Cuz thats the design?

  • this is so awesome thier accents made it even better :) funny thing is i didnt even realize it was the london cast untill young simba said ZEDbra ;) so cute

  • Last time I saw The Lion King Adult Simba was played by a white guy but Young Simba was played by a black kid. Simba pulled a Michael Jackson !!!!!

  • @LionKingRulezAgain1 hahahahahaa!!

  • Comment removed

  • @LionKingRulezAgain1 I think i know who you mean its the understudy for the normal simba

  • @LionKingRulezAgain1 same here

  • @LionKingRulezAgain1 for the younger actors there are different simbas and nalas because obviously they can't do the show every single day, they have to take it in turns. It shows it in the programme they sell there.

  • @LionKingRulezAgain1

White? Are you sure. He looked brown to me

  • @MariyaVolkova75 I assure you

  • @LionKingRulezAgain1

Did you watch the one in London(Lyceum Theater)? Cause if he is white, there must be something seriously wrong with my vision :-)

  • @MariyaVolkova75 I saw the Tour version here in Cananda

  • The guy who pplayed older simba sang really well. not as good as jason raize though RIP

  • Who's playing adult Simba here? Is it Andile Gumbi?

  • @MultiBelle22 Yes.

  • @wolfie293 Whoo! I saw him do it!

  • @MultiBelle22 SAME he was swetting in the spotlight. LMFAO
