Because it's pre-rendered and just a pre-visualization. Even a brainless monkey knows that what was showcased here was actually all 100% scripted and 0 actual gameplay, nothing the player did. You could probably make some badass "gameplay" from the existing DoW2 showcase with 100% scripted events/actions and everything.

Rag doll? Check.Leveling up? Check. Wargear drops? Check. In-skirmish Hero wargear upgrades? Check. Assault Jump knock back? Check. Destructible terrain? Check. Dreadnought throwing Sync-kill can destroy said terrain and objects? Check. Unit abilities? Check.

I don't see why everyone's bitching. With Soulstorm as proof, hovering vehicles don't look very good, and at best vehicles should be global abilities like Company of Heroes. Nice Pre-Visualization and nice outcome Relic.

This video was all prerendered cgi rather then actual gameplay. Every single thing that happens in it was done frame by frame by hand.

Well technically the first 3 marines still would have lived because Guardian Shuriken Catapult guns are highly inaccurate and Space Marine Power Armor can take a lot of hits. As you saw one of the marines died in the melee and when one of them finally died from the combined force of the first guardians and second guardians.

No this is all CGI, not actual gameplay. It's all animated on a computer and made to LOOK like Gameplay. It is NOT actual gameplay! There is actually no one playing this and never was. It was just a cinematic made to give some idea what the gameplay could be like. For example how the Force Commander killed the Banshees in perfect sync; that's something that cannot be made in a game.

its kind of minimal right now, because it just released. It's good though. Well done. Its not something you can play for long periods of time though, with only 6 maps (3 for each game type) theres limited options, but well worth it.

While this looks like a cool thing to watch, it seems very difficult to balance. For example the ability to destroy the bridge like that or the insane speed of those flying units.

It's very dynamic and would work nicely for single player where balance isn't a big of a concern, but multiplayer? I can see people just massing those insanely fast flying units.
