Sarah, Happy Thanksgiving to you & Allen! I miss you both & think of you often! I am sorry it has been a difficult, several months for you. Hugs to you! Tell Les & Leith i said hello, i miss them both as well. I am still dealing with my illness & have good & bad days but grateful for every day that i DO have for life is so precious to me now. Warm loving thoughts your way! <3
Hey Potter! Warm thoughts your way as well. Hopefully you the holidays will be wonderful and the new year will bring fresh starts and some joy. Life is good, despite everything, so never lose hope. Much love and the warmest of hugs....Sarah
Hey, thanks. I will try to get more videos - hopefully this weekend. Work has just been a killer so its difficult to get the time. Anyway, I hope you are feeling good and looking forward to the holidays. Hugs...Sarah
I am glad to hear from you, I have been going through a hard time for the past few months as well. I don't know what's going on but please know my thoughts are with you, even if we haven't spoken much, I respect you so much and love your spirit much love to you Sarah
Hey Lindsay, so great to hear from you. I hope things are looking up for you. Or if there is anything I can do, well....let me know. Rough times are never easy - especially if alone - so hopefully you have the support you need. Much love and my hugs....Sarah
Missed you and your videos! Hope one day we will be fortunate to meet up for a coffee somewhere in New York? I admire you as a person and as an artist/philosopher. Keep up good work! xxx
Thanks for the comments. As for meeting up - always a possibility. I live about 4 1/2 hrs from the city, so don't get there too often. But every now and then. And if you ever happen to be traveling to upstate NY let me know. Hugs....Sarah
Hey Theo!! Its so good to hear from you. Hopefully you are doing well in beautiful Paris....although I imagine winter has set in with its dreary weather. Your videos still are such a source of pleasure for me. Just wanted you to know that.
It is so great to hear from you. We've been thinking of last years Thanksgiving a lot too recently. We did try to put something together out here on the west coast but it just didn't come together. If you put something together for next year Morgan and I will be on the first flight out there!
We were very sad that we weren't able to make it up to see you and the hubby before out big move out to SF... things were just so crazy.
OK, I am definitely going to hold you to the promise that you will come out here if we plan on something next year! And while we were also sad that we didn't get to see you both before you left, odds are good that we will journey west at some point in the coming year. So ya never know....we might just swoop in and surprise you!
Sorry to hear about your father. Your reflections upon art would be welcome.
I am 50, & though I don't "feel" old, I have a sense of time that I did not possess even ten years ago -- as if I can better sense time's passage & note its footprint upon the world. It's unsettling, yet intriguing.
AN APOLOGY: I accidently discovered a sloppily written reply from me to you on my 1st video where an omitted word changed a sentence's meaning. I am angry at myself & very sorry.
so happy to see you making a video :) i 2 remember "Transgiving" it looked like a lovely time. hope things get better as the new year gets closer. see you at ur new channel...
Hey Sarah! What a nice late evening surprise to see a video from you. I'm sorry to hear about your father.
I have always been impressed by people who can make their hands make the things that is in their mind's eye. They seldom talk about the proces, What makes them tick, so to speak.
It will be the last one in the old style as I hope to be on hormones come spring. So next year's should be even more exciting.
I like trains, both big and small. As a perfectionist and someone who suffers from fear of failure I am often a bit jealous of people who can get the images out of their head and into a medium where other people can see them. I have lots of train scenes I want to model but it is so difficult to get going. It is one of the most difficult old paths to get out of.
Perhaps other painters have it easier but I still find the whole process difficult.....so no need, at least, to envy me. The important thing is to find those moments and places where you feel most engaged, most real. The rest will follow.
I'm glad to get your update and additional link. You are one of the most interesting people I feel connected with and for me that is what life is about----interesting people. And what a life this is! I say this in my old age as the descent beckons. Love to you, Ida
Ida - your note means more than you might imagine. I too feel connected in very real ways, and as I approach 50 I start to understand something, I think, of the preciousness of those older still. Love to you as well.....Sarah
ten seconds in I was in tears remembering that gathering last year of such an amazing group of wonderful people. Somehow you had rounded up many of the people I had followed for so long all together for a joyous occasion. I am not a jealous person but watching then I came as close as ever to feeling that emotion. I assumed that was just how you would be this year with just a few changes, so sorry to feel your sadness and hope you get the response to create a wonderful Christmas.
Thanks Caroline. I am positive we will put something on next year, although not so sure we can assemble the same crew, many who have moved to far flung places. But fresh faces are just as wonderful. As for this Xmas - I think it is a long shot, but tis the season of miracles after all. Will keep folks posted if something develops. In the meantime thank you for your sweet words.
So happy to see this update, Sarah. One day I hope to make that grand road trip to see all my friends scattered around the US, and I'll be sure to stop by when that happens. I'm so jealous that you'll get to see Les and Leith!
My best wishes to you and Allan, and prayers for your father's health.
We definitely need to get you out here....although, come to think of it, my brother DOES live in Phoenix, so who knows - I might visit you first! In any case, always nice to know you are out there.
Thanks Bethany.....I'm a resilient soul, so no need to worry too much. Life just has its challenges at times and I am old enough to know enough that they pass. Also, there is a good amount of joy mixed in as well. In any case, I hope to do more - so fingers crossed.
Yes....well, we ALL miss their YT vids, but there are reasons many of us slip away and at some point one has to accept that. But that doesn't mean we can't miss them to death and remember the laughter. There were some great moments there. I will try to capture some video perhaps, as a way to sneak them in....but shhhhhh, don't tell anyone! ; )
It's so wonderful to see you. Hello! I think of you daily, thank you for popping in and showing your pretty face!
Sometimes it's okay to keep a hold on what you're thinking, until it's a more solid personal experience. So thanks for sharing that you're working on things and that you're okay. When you feel like talking, I'm glad to listen.
I am sending my best energy and thoughts out to NY and toward your Dad for peace and healing. I hope it finds the both of you very soon. Yes, Painting is a silent art, but your video speaks volumes with few words. I can see that there is much for you to focus on, and many choices to decide upon, and that these tasks, no matter how much the human experience requires them, can be daunting and worrysome. I wish you peace and clarity, dear Sarah, and remind you of the Crocus. *hugs*
You have a way of making me feel so protected and safe-via a video. the love just shines through! I'm having a dog and puppy dinner tonight-My puppy-8 months-Flora Danica--my first ever dog-and then 9 people, two young lab pups, a beagle mix, and a monster black hairy dog. Guessing my home will be destroyed but I will have the best time. Ok on with the prep-
And you have a way of making me always smile - so there, we're even!! :) And I love labs - especially black ones....they taught me all the important stuff the teachers left out.
Thank you Sarah! Today I washed the huge floor--big-ass house-three times. There were accidents galore but i for one had a smashing time! today she played with the black lab puppy--3 months--again-she's 1/4 Kleine Munsterlander and is unusually tall, beautiful in the the head/face and oh so soft! My dog is well socialized so i take her to play with many many dogs.
I'm caught up in a tremendous sense of time as well. So many trivial platitudes now maddeningly true. Friends gone! Family too! Projects can't be left undone or they will never be done. Those things I held on to I now give away and younger hands grab them greedily. Didn't I once... wasn't there a time things were handed to ME and I swept up the treasures and wondered at the mystery of some person letting such magical things GO! How did it suddenly happen that youth ran out? God!
It's good to see you back! You're in my prayers and thoughts and I hope everything looks up. I would love to spend Christmas with you, but I have family to appease. Maybe in a coming year or so.
Sorry about your dad not doing well. That's never easy-- when its someone so close and one can feel helpless-- but I'm sure that your tremendous amount of love is most comforting to him. Sometimes its not just all one can offer but also the best that one can offer.
Hey Nick! It is SO good to hear from you. And talk about disappearing acts!! :) More seriously, you are forever embedded into some very cherished moments of my life and I think of you from time to time and hope you are well. Much love.....Sarah
You are not the first to make the request and at some point I might. If nothing else I definitely want to explore some issues around painting.....including thoughts on the difference between images and paintings and what that means in terms of showing things online or in reproductions. But more on all that another time.
So great to see you Sarah. I've really missed your videos. I'm sorry about your dad, all my best to him. I hope you work through what is difficult for you very soon!
Thank you for the thoughts....my Dad is getting up there in age. As for me.....things will improve. They always do. In the meantime, on with the show!
