When I was seven, an old friend of mine showed me this game and it scared the oblivion out of me. 5 years ago, I heard Paint it Black and couldn't remember where I heard it. 2 weeks ago, I saw Twisted Metal posters outside of GameStop and I remembered this game. It still freaks me out but the graphics and the ending is still amazing!

This is the only game in the series that I've played, I was surprised to learn that the rest of the series was in such a different tone. Which I kind of like.

It's like the series derailed into a grim dark extravaganza for no discernible reason, and I love that.

I wish more games had a tone like this one, at least the storytelling part.

@McSqueaky it was my favorite of the series because of it's focus on the horror, but Eat Sleep Play's Mr. David Jaffe (director) has announced no more horror, it's all comical, murderous, fun. although this disappoints me a little, it will not discourage me from buying and playing one of the greatest games to ever be released in history. Twisted Metal truly is a classic and a must buy.

That story was a load of shit. If there was a plane crash then it would of been announced. Also the hint TWISTED METAL ON PSTHREE is a dead give away for a new game. It was mentioned in the documentary included in the PS2 version of Twisted Metal Head On. Though they are taking their time making the next Twisted Metal.
