How come the music can be heard before the Ipod is docked? Is it FM transmitting to a receiver in the walnut base? Or are the band playing live, but sitting out of shot, like the bazuki (sp) band in the Monty Python cheese shop sketch, lol.

@nogginthefroggin it uses no electronics from what i understand just a passage the briongs sound from the ipod to the horn.

@phantom3rdchannel thank you. I've just realised, it's an Iphone he's docking, which has speakers, which is why we hear music pre-docking!! Doh. This could not work with an Ipod as they have no external speaker of course, unless you could force a couple of Ipod earphone speakers into the Ivictrola sound channel!!! mmmmm, maybe not.
