@mcsaltens I had a plexi clone from weber and even with the tonestack cranked didnt sound the same ( though pretty close) as bypassing it by lifting the mid pots grounded lug, doing that boosts signal too.
are you using a distortion pedal or have you modded the amp. if its a pure stock jtm45 plugged straight into the guitar then the guy where i bought my marshall vintage modern 2266c lied to me.

probably go higher on the eq, more treble bass and middle mate
if im not wrong this amp has a passive eq, means that eq maxed out is flat eq
