  • Actually, it's the shaft. I had a very similar issue. I believe that the steering shaft is built to collapse during a severe impact to protect the driver. (Usually two shafts connected) Over time there starts to be a little bit of play. Take your car to a mechanic and have them inspect the shaft. Either tighten it up, or put a small tack weld or two where the shafts meet. I hope this helps...

  • hahahah best video ever. lol went at that steering wheel like a pro! hahahaaaaa!

  • the bushings on your control arm probly has to be replaced.

  • My camry has had this issue twice...in both cases it was a worn steering rack mounting bush

  • not sure if you will look at this ever again, but what year is your camry?

  • 1994. Its an Australian built version so still has the 3VZ-FE

  • so changing all control arms and tie rods didn't solve the problem?

  • no, inner tie rods too - it's the rack. still, been fine for 30k miles since this or so.

  • i have the same exact sound on my b5, i'm changing all 8 control arms and tie rods this week

  • I already did, to no avail. It's the rack.

  • control arm

  • sounds like a bad tie rod end or control arm.

  • Steering racks are shit. slightest bit of wear and they are so noisy when goin over bumps at slow speed. Just not durable enough.

  • that aint any problem i think...seem normal to me...but could be wrong
