  • 3:12 i hated that battle so damn much...

  • def best FFT of them all. Ramza was a great protagonist, also cuz his name's badass. RAMZA YO. (x.o)-b

  • id love to see ramaz vs tidus in a battle.2 of my most favourite final fantasy characters of all time

  • Why the *#$@ didnt they include Ramza in the first Dissidia?! Instead of that stupid Shantotto or whatever. Or instead of Gabranth. Didn't like 12 that much.

  • @thephoenixforce Whoa, easy on Gabranth. I HATE FFXII, yet even I think he's badass.

They shouldn't added Vaan in Dissidia 012, though. How do the Japanese like this guy?!

  • @artcellrox Because Bashe was going to be the hero, but Square Enix learned from Vagrant Story's financial disappointment that the Japanese don't like older men as their heroes. So they created a bishounen with absolutely no storyline significance. That's the sad truth of it.

I personally felt that Ashe should have been the main character. She's one of my all-time favourites in the series for the moral dilemmas she underwent. She and Ramza would be great foils in a future Dissidia, IMO. : )

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster Ooh, Ramza X Ashe. I don't know any of their plots, but I'm already liking it!

Wait, Japanese don't like older men...

IS THAT WHY WE GOT THE OLDER NIER?!

  • @artcellrox And now I want to see Ramza x Ashe as an actual couple. I actually reckon they'd go well together. It'd be an interesting role switcheroo, as Ramza's younger but definitely more level-headed than she is.

You have hit the nail on the head exactly with that Nier thing. Personally, I prefer having older protagonists. I don't know why, but even as a kid it was hard for me to relate to the younger ones. Maybe it was because they were always angsting... XD

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster Well, if they ever pull off a younger hero perfectly, with the level-headedness of a more mature protagonist, I would buy it, day one.

  • @artcellrox Well, until that day, I guess we've still got good old Ramza. : D

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster

They could also be expies for each other. Ramza's Phil LaMarr voiced Reddas in XII while Ashe's Kari Wahlgren voiced Ovelia.

  • @YuffieDon I smell a troper. : P

  • If what Nomura says is true (that Duodecim is the 'last Dissidia' of its kind), the next style of Dissidia should branch out into the other Final Fantasy series, and maybe even other Square franchises. Just imagine Ramza going all out against Fei Fong Wong.

As for what the game's new genre would be, it's anyone's guess. As long it's not another Ehrgeiz. :P

  • Tactics > 7

  • Comment removed

  • I love how the composer inserts bits of Ramza's theme in here. Phenomenal. A live orchestra remake will probably be too much awesome for anyone to behold. They messed up on Dissidia 2 by NOT including Ramza as the hero and Delita as the villain, instead we get a lackluster, cookie cutter character named Lightning. Can you imagine an epic battle between those two with this music as the BG? Ramza/Delita deserved a spot. Out of all FF characters, they are no doubt, the most tragic pair.

  • @dragonfx310 I agree, it's disappointing, but it's rather fitting that a character like Ramza is overshadowed by the popular fandom characters of the FF universe. I'm not surprised he's not included in Dissidia, he truly is the unsung hero and it suits his character well. In my opinion, Tactics is more of a 'gem' out of all the FF series - yet it's the odd one out due to its mature plot and strategic gameplay. Compared to FFXIII where there's no more strategy involved.

  • @dragonfx310 Dear god does Dissidia need a Ramza/Delita conflict. And yes, with this music.

  • Ramza + 2swords + monk secondary = cheapness!!

  • lol, for people who think orlandu is broken, you obviously have no clue how retarded strong ramza is. I've solo'd this entire game with ramza, he's a beast and easily the strongest character in any rpg ever if he's built right.

  • @h0bgawblin Yeah Ramza is just like any other character in the game. You can take some characters you buy in the shop and keep training and training and trianing them. Its alot easier doing that from the start then getting characters later on.

  • @JamesRideout123 Ramza is not like any other character in the game, he has 2 squire abilities that make him godly and no other square has it with the exception of that monster hunter guy they added in the psp version. Even then, ramza's brave and faith is exponentially higher then that guys. Within the first 7 battles(i think it was 7) you can get ramza calculator with holy and he can just kill everyone on the map.

Ramza is a serious baller and orlandu is garbage by comparison.

  • @h0bgawblin What do you mean get Ramza Calculator? You mean the class Calculator? And what about Holy ar eyou talking about the Priest ability?

  • @JamesRideout123 yes on both accounts. You can literally sit in a corner with auto potion counter in the beginning of the game and spam yell (i think it was yell) for +1 speed and level up any job in one fight with ease because ramza will be taking 5 turns in a row within 15 minutes of the fight. Provided your soloing him. He is the only square in the game with yell and the other one he gets in, i'm not sure, act 4 or 3. It's +2 atk +2 mgc +1 speed +10 brave +10 faith. Square ramza = win!

  • @h0bgawblin Ok.

  • @h0bgawblin Lol Plus you can give Ramza Orlandu's Excalibur which ABSORBS Holy. No, nullifying it isnt enough, it heals you. You can basically sit in a corner and spam Holy, and not even worry about it damaging you. Talk about Godlike. My game is hacked this way, I used the item duplication trick and managed to give an Excalibur to my whole team, so now when a character casts Holy, its epic win x100. Lul

  • Anyone else spend hours spamming accumulate in Mandalia Plains with a party of black mages trying to get a billion jp to unlock dark knight?

Poor little chocoboes trapped in the corner surrounded by black mages that can do 200 damage with a single punch.

  • FFT has the best music among all Final Fantasy.

  • I just can't replay this game because I put two million hours into my first playthrough, but this music will be on my ipod forever. By the way, I don't want to hear anymore people bashing "Thunder God Cid" on here. I'm serious.

  • I love most of the final fantasies and own most of them, my favorite one would probaly be Final Fantasy 8, but that doesn't mean I don't love every single one. But Final Fantasy Tactics is a game that is just really special, it always has me wanting to play it over and over again, and it offers so much as a strategy game. This would definately be one of my favorites. Dissidia was also awesome, but it didn't have me wanting to play it over and over again like tactics did.

  • This awesome song reminds me of fairly tough battles but awesome ones too! just like the one in the Dam!

  • too perfect

  • This was always my favorite battle theme. Excellent soundtrack overall, though.

  • This theme makes me remind Golgorand's scene :

Gaff : "Let's go back to Igros...c'mon wake up!"

Ramza : "No, I won't be involved in anymore wrong doing !"

Gaff: "Forget about Fort Zeakden, it couldn't be helped !"

Ramza: "We killed her out of convenience... Yes us ! I've run from the truth long enough..."

Ramza hits Gaffgarion for 999... and epic owns the vilain >.<

  • Damn, Ramza has to be the best character ever. He never had a constant or dependable reason to fight. And even though he had goals, he didn’t achieve all of them. He failed to gain honor to the Beoulve name, and he failed to save Princess Ovelia. Ramza was not a typical hero. He expressed feelings and characteristics that were not regular to a leader. He was a coward, he wasn’t a special fighter, and he wasn't focused. But in the end though he changed the world whether he knew it or not.

  • @CurrentB lol he was in no way a coward. It would take a lot of courage to confront your own brother and strike him down with your sword in the name of doing what's right. I kinda see the character Batman from the Dark Knight in him. He was hunted, and was not recognized for what really happened as the true hero.

  • @CurrentB

Well said man, I always thought Ramza was special!

  • @CurrentB lol a coward, and not a special fighter. thats probably the dumbest thing ive ever heard of, killing lucavi demons and practically everyone in the game makes him a coward. haha what, why is this comment liked.

  • @Maximus54545 Although all of these characteristics sound like it deters from Ramza’s reputation and character, in reality it adds to it. Because Ramza failed to be the walking tank that most heroes become. I appreciate the fact that this isn’t the accomplishments of a super human, but of the struggle of a common man, which could very well have been you or me.

  • A lot of the commentary on this page is pretty dumb.

This game is nearly perfect the way it is.

Algus is a prick, and got what he deserved.

Delita wasn't Ramza's enemy. Delita is the reason he survived long enough to fulfill his destiny. And yes, Delita was also a prick, and got what he deserved.

T.G. Cid is **THE** most OverPowered Playable character in any RPG ever made. And that makes him fun. Try soloing chapter 4 with him. You can do it if you're skilled enough :p

  • @Optimum45 Why would you even use Orlandu...? He makes the game a freakin cakewalk. Idk about you, but I actually like to be challenged in a game. Not use broken characters to power through the game. It doesn't take "skill" to use Orlandu.

  • @SaintPaul122 My Ramza was stronger than my Orlandeau when I got him lol

  • @SaintPaul122 Or the Robot did you get him?

  • @Optimum45 Technically yes, Orlandu is the most powerful. But Ramza is broken too, you can get him calc with holy EASY early on in the game. Just sit around on a random map, spam yell, you can get him to have 5 turns in a row. Just make him a knight/samurai/dragoon with math abilities, spam holy, GG. Razma is just as much of a beast, if you play him right.

  • FFT is the greatest game ever made. Period. The original of course. The gba ones are cheap knockoffs.

  • i like this song... but it keeps reminding me how i kept dying fighting the old dude gaffy at that fight shown in the vid!!!! :l

  • i like this song... but it keeps reminding me how i kept dying fighting the old dude gaffy

  • everyone knows the coolest character in this game is definitely Algus lol. Remember him he's the character who's briefly in the game on your team and makes fun of Delita the whole time for being a low class peasant and not being royal family or whatever. Then he leaves your team and kills Delita's sister lol.

  • @Idontfcare funny when you say it like that

  • FFT is the best spin off FF game in my opinion, but now the GBA/DS versions aren't as good as this one. No one really has heard of FFT or played it, its so under appreciated, but it has one of the best FF stories in my opinion.

  • I love the violin in this

  • @Laughingcoyote1213 Te violin is tghe best part in all of the songs

  • Who would agree that Ramza's enemy should be Delita (since it would make sense since they do have Tidus vs. Jecht and Cecil vs. Golbez) Ramza's ex mode being idk his dad's skills watever they may be and Delia Turning to his Holy Knight class it would seem soo much fun to have two well rounded chars fight ea other

  • wait if ramza was added to dissidia who would his "main enemy" be? Wiegraf? Folmarv? itd be kinda suckish cuz they'd definitely nerf Altima/Ultima or even Gaffy? tell me what u think Ramza's nemesis should be if he gets in dissidia (don't choose a lucavi cuz the lucavi could be their ex mode like Wiegraf turns to Belias/Velius for his EX mode)

  • This is our little big gem we have here. It's an epic game every single aspect is memorable and enjoyable. It's TOTAL fantasy.

  • wonder wat would happen if they somehow added ramza to dissidia kinda weird cant really think of any bravery or HP attacks tht'd be badass

  • @shadowseph78 maybe he can use throw stone as an HP attack :D :))

  • @CrAzY799999 ok just imagine that ramza fighting sum1 like cloud *throw stone*

Cloud:... r u fkin serious? u just threw a piece of stone at me WTF?!?! *omnislash*

  • @shadowseph78 we all know throw stone will win :D

  • @shadowseph78 it is even more fun because in this game they have Cherry Blossom, "The most powerfull Limit skill"

  • @shadowseph78 I have actually killed someone with throw stone. It hit him for 9 and he was knocked off the edge of the building and died on impact with the ground. I forgot the value for the fall. But it was also the guy who needed to be killed for the battle too.

  • @Aendiine true but think about it wat if it was thrown at like cloud who's been like super upgraded with some freak steroids or ex-death who has good reflexes or the fact that Vivi can just destroy it with one of his black magic if a stone would kill em id be seriously impressed and i'd have ramza as my fave char

  • @shadowseph78 Bravery and HP attacks would be based on abilities that all of the classes in FFT use... I was just thinking about it too, and I realized that if they ever did add Ramza in dissidia they'd make a him a very well-rounded fighter.

  • @NuclearDucky yeap i guess knight's rend abilities can temporarily shut down enemy equip effects and itd be like a brave atk or maybe a unique support ability idunno or mages black magic to start using HP atks maybe even Time Mage so he can buff himself LOL that'd be awesome him under haste OMG the possibilities

  • This game is the best Final Fantasy game of all time. Thumbs up me if you agree XD

  • Best thing I ever saw was my brother's Ninja throwing Books at EVERYTHING.

  • @marcusdranz LOL

  • I *think* that isnt a monk iirc. He looks like a monk, but may be one of the mark-named lowbie thieves from a cutscene... i havent played through all of WotL yet so i havent seen all the scenes. But if it is, I stand corrected

  • I also would say that this song is one of my favs. I love listening to the chimes when they come in solo.

  • @arenusaura

That personality test isn't always accurate, however. I was an INTP the first time I took it, then I turned into an ISTJ, and now I'm back at INTP. lol

  • Ramza's personality is ISTJ. Saving the world quietly.

  • Hiteshi Sakimoto is the man.

Too bad, ppl only knows Uematsu from Squarenix LOL.

  • Ramza was the best FF protagonist evar. I actually was proud to play as him, unlike the punk bitch chars in the norm ff games.

  • i will always say that, there will be no game in my entire life that after 10 years i still play them like i Do right now with FFT

    best game ever *_*

maybe Xenogears can be a good rival

  • @CloudStrifeCosplay Xenogears and FFT are the best games I ever played.. but i like more Xenogears than FFT....

  • Oh dear, that Monk seems to have picked up a sword...

  • He must have equip sword as a support ability.

  • So it would seem.

  • This song says a lot about life.

  • This is not underrated, it's just not commercially successful, partly because it was overshadowed by FFVII, and because it didn't appeal to the younger audience (hence the mature themes and plot). The PSP version is probably the best game on the system, and the use of proper english really gives it an edge, and I wouldn't have know it was a Japanese game. The cutscenes are beautiful.

  • FFT is the most under appreciated FF. ever.

    shame really =(

  • @Lordfantom How is it under appreciated? It ranks way up at the top by a countless amount of people.

Gladius is under appreciated, Baten Kaitos is under appreciated. This gets all of the praise that it deserves.

  • @Lordfantom You're wrong! ...we all apreciate this game so much, this is one of my favorites... forever

  • @Lordfantom Oh my god, truer words have never been spoken. Every time the discussion of best FF comes up, everybody is always saying, "FF7! Cloud and Sephiroth r0x0rz..... And Aeris died! Booohoo!" I liked FF7. But in my opinion, it doesn't hold a flame to FF6, let alone FFT. And every time I explain how much more depth there is to Final Fantasy Tactics' story than all others, people are like, "Dude, that was just a stupid spin-off." And most of the time they haven't even played it. Blasphemy...

  • @Lordfantom it was the best. Anyone who played it knew it right away.

  • @Lordfantom Yes, FF Tactics is considered a "side project" from the main series, but I think it deserves to be a real part of the series because it has all the ingredients (chocobos, moogles, the prelude theme etc) and it's also extremely good.

  • btw this is my strategy from ps1 version so if it dont work on the remake sorry about that

  • ok how about this

1st equip all your guys with the camilian cloth

give them calculator (make sure they have all calculations)(make sure they know faith from oricale and holy from priest)

2nd very beginning of battle you cast faith with calculation that targets every 1 until every 1 is effected then cast holy on every 1. camilian should absorb holy and your enemys should take 999 damage. 1st round win =). thats how i did it anyways till I started making my entire team invisible and assassinate

  • Best Ramza:

    Durandal/Escutcheon/Grand Helm/Grand Armor/Sage's Ring

    Darkness/Items/Mana Shield/Safeguard/Manafont

Grind him to 999 HP and MP, 99 Phys and Magick attack, 97 Bravery, 3 Faith, and 50 Speed first.

  • why can't they make the psp version a downloadable to be playable on ps3

  • it is, but you have to now how to do it.

  • How did people like the Dark knight job in the psp remake?

  • @TheSeblin It's good. Not incredibly busted.

  • It's good, but by the time you get it....:\ Well, my monks were already kicking ass by then.

  • it's OK but I think it's a lil over powered...

I thought they should have put in a paladin in stead...

  • Best Ramza Form : Squire ( Chapter 4 ), Two Sword ( Chaos Blade & Excalibur ) + Move+3 + Thief Hat + Reflect Mail + Bracer + Hamedo + Jump. IS GOD!, y beat Ajora with Ramza(Lvl69) alone.

  • FFT Advance is a real shit, SUCKS!, but Final Fantasy Tactics ( PSX ) (LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL) , I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT (L) awesome song!

  • @ch3litoh While the story, difficulty, and characters couldn't compare I still had fun with advance. The new races and jobs were great, and I could have more fun with the job system without worrying about how well my units could compete in battle.

  • @neoswordmaster i liked the idea of more races in the game, it gave the game more flavor plus not having to worry about k.o count reaching zero was great cuz it sucks to put so much work into a unit and lose them just like that.

  • They should of ported it for PS3 and not change a thing to the game exept fo the new jobs witch are pretty cool.

  • Fucking awesome song.

  • Fantastic.. like everything in this game..

  • Since when does a monk fight with swords? I mean, unless he/she's got "Equip sword" which is stupid since a monks fists do more damage. Ok I'll shush now.

  • @LOCCDOGYY

Maybe his Bravery's like, -really- low. Bad monk is bad. x3

  • Still though, their fists do more damage than melee weapons do. So there's no point in wasting a skill slot and doing less damage at the same time. However, maybe that's just how that character feels they, themselves should be played. It's all very subjective ^-^

  • on the ps1 you can.... i dont know about psp though

  • its wiegraf and vormav btw :P.

  • Weigraf was my fav char:P

  • zalbag was mine good sir, and i'll have you know i still cry when i get to the part where you have to kill him after dycedarg's zodiac form, i believe andromelk, zombifies him...so sad.

  • The songs alone made this game that much more epic. I liked the Original.. and the names for all the spells.. I didn't like the changes for some of the spells and Character names. Hokuten and Naten for example

  • This is easily my favorite song in this game.

  • The should make FFT 2 another war starts but with a new royal famaily starting to try taking over Ivalice.

  • i think they shouldn't cos i reckon the 1st one is a masterpiece.

    my fav FF ever.

  • I went melee units all the way, Monks with 2swords (but use fists) kills close to anything instantly

  • Definately my favorite final fantasy game. I just wish it was a bit longer =/ .

  • I always imagine a Dark Knight Ramza..or ramza using Night Sword against Dycedarg

  • Why does that monk have a sword?

  • You could always equip anybody with the ability to use swords(Knight ability).

  • also that was the orginal i believe where that sprite was used for a pirate.

  • Monk with equip sword ability? ;)

  • Appears to be, but ain't that quite a waste, they have increased damage with fists, in my fft game, my monk deals more with fists than Ramza with Excalibur...

  • Yeah it is, I don't get why they had a monk with the sword anyways. Seems very un-monkly like.

  • Play through the game without leveling, you'll see what tactics is all about then.

  • Or play 1.3

  • Whenever I think of Final Fantasy Tactics, this is the song that plays in my head. :)

  • I don't know why everyone's saying FFT is underrated. Aren't there 2 spin-offs and an updated port to the PSP? The only think that could be slightly better Strategy RPG is Tactics Ogre, and I'm only say that because it has multiple endings.

  • NOSTALGIA RUSH :O

    Chills.

  • Damn.. i dont understand why this was so underrated! It has such an amazing story!

Hell, FFT's story is like... x10 better than FFVII!

  • It's not underrated, just unnoticed for some reason. Almost anyone who actually played it will tell you it's an amazing game, but for some reason, not as many people actually played it as some of the other more popular Final Fantasy games.

  • Frankly I'm TIRED of people whining about a FF7 remake. As much as I like the FF series, 7 really needs to come to a COMPLETE close.

I liked the cinemas, extra classes, and extra characters they put in this version.

  • Yeah fuck FF7. Remake FF6.

  • AMEN.

    Kefka would bury Sephiroth.

  • Hah, thanks. Looks like someone didn't agree though... lol

  • And between those two WHO actually destoyed, or at least refaced, the planet? Survey says.....Kefka

  • Kuja > all in that regards, he actually destroys a planet on his own.

  • @BeliasDeGigas Sounds like a Dissida challenge to me.

  • Fuck no, I won't take it back. To me, FF7 is good, but... I consider FF6 to be the best FF game ever. FF7 is considered to be the best by grown men with a crush on Tifa's huge pologonal tits. Or Sephiroth...

  • as long as your not sayin its bad thats cool.

  • LOL!!! If they need to remake a FF game I'm voting for 6 or 8. LionH Heart would CRUSH Omnislash because Squall goes ALL out with that one plus more hits.

  • Genji glove, two ultima weapons, full health, master's scroll.

    Nuff said.

  • Opinions, everyone has them.

I really used to like FF VII, but it was nowhere as good as VI or IV, or FFT for that matter

  • FF VII was only remember as the 'best' Final Fantasy game because it was one of the most successful. Most people hadn't even played the other ones.

Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy Tactics are the best in the genre in my opinion. Tactics has the best story of any video game I've ever played, to be honest.

  • I completely agree, Final Fantasy Tactics had a fantastic storyline.

It probably had a lot to do with the very mature story which, while deeply rooted in fantasy, dealt with very realistic situations and a very human emotion was felt throughout.

All the deception and manipulation... I was surprised at how intricate it was.

    Marvelous game, way underrated.

  • Sorry, I guess it's down to personal opinion. It also has a very personal connection to me because it was something I watched my dad play when I was a kid. I have the whole soundtrack on my iPod. etc...

  • @theshninja No point.

  • My favorite game, Hell i still play through it Try a lancer samurai!

  • I've tried. A samurai with Jump, nice combo. But try Ninja with Martial Arts from monk, thats friggin damage, i did like 500-600 at chapter 4.

  • Try white mage with draw out.

  • Tried black mage, it was ok, but black mage with 2 rods, level 2 black magic spells (fire2 and such) matched up to my summoners (who had 1 rod) level 4 black magic spells almost.

  • If you want a potent magic user, raise a white mage at the beginning of the game. They have the highest magic growth and are faster than black mages.

  • magick points maybe, but definitely not magick power. Maybe you're comparing a female white mage to a male black mage?

  • I think the story really goes downhill fast after Chapter 1, following the death of Delita's sister. It's a great game, but the supernatural element of stones and bad Jesus analogies was really weak in comparison to the political maneuverings with Wiegraf, Miluda, Larg, Dycedarg, etc.

  • @BeliasDeGigas That's totally right, I think it has better story than FFX too

  • @Cruxiz for me FFT is right under FFX, mostly the graphics and all but the playstyle in FFT was epic fun and always changing

  • final fantasy tactics and donkey kong country 2 are the 2 games the with the best soundtrack of all times

  • This song and the music that plays In one of the Monestary battle with the Izlude guy is my favorite!

  • Too bad it was released right after FF 7. It was lost in the shadow of overrated FF VII and renains underrated up to this time.

  • When i listen to this i remember battle at fort ziekden with delita and algus and junk

  • I LOVE this game. Best music ever.

  • Truely epic music, love FFT to this day

  • FFT's music is simply amazing. They were able to blend the feelings passed down by music with the proper scenes in the game perfectly. The songs are just wonderful.

  • this music drives me crazy go nuts..

    -a good thing lol
