To be legal, he either has to have the ball, or within 5 yards of a balldown. For guy who is recieving a pass you can't hit him until the exact moment the ball is able to be caught. Must have head up, both hands on stick and together (no cross check) and must make initial contact on front plane(shoulder to shoulder). arms must be tucked in but can push once initial contact made. spossed to be a body check more than a hit. Pads aren't like football. most of these are illegal, but some are clean.
