I know this is a Cadet cadence. I have had this same recording for well over ten years. I am wondering if is NOT the Cadets playing. What makes me wonder is the cymbal part. Cadets dropped their cymbal line after the '92 season.
That's the Cadets street time, but does that mean it's the Cadets playing it? I mean, The Ditty is the Blue Devils piece, but how many highschools/colleges do you see playing it? (poorly I might add)
And people saying the Commandments own couldn't perform this? Really? I'm willing to bet they could no problem.
yeah, no, not the Marines. This is def Cadets Street Time... although a very fuzzy version. I doubt it's The Cadets performing it. sounds like a mid/ late 90's version.
yeah thats defintely not a marine drumline. I know what a marine drumline is capable of and this is nowhere near it. i have this same recording on an untitled album on my zune. I'm probably wrong, but it very well may be texas a+m, i recognize it.
I know its not the marine drum line because I have a recording of the cadets playing this. What makes you think that the marine drum line couldn't play this? They do nothing but play and practice their routines,if the incorperated this they would have no problem playing it after all some of the members could possibly have come from the cadets and played this piece already so they teach it to the others who may have play with the blue devils ,etc.
Hate to burst your bubble, but I don't think we ever played that street beat. The recording is from the CD jointly released by Cadets and Blue Devils in 1996 titled "Blue And The Cadets -The Current Years 95-96", and is of the Cadets drumline. Our battery will do funky modern stuff for warmups, but we don't go too far into outer space for parades -- we've got a traditional image to try to uphold.
Sounds like the Cadets drum solo/cadence a few yrs ago..... Red Pony? Or poss even ditty by Blue Devs. At least some of the notes/beats are the same. different tuning though........ Nice! SEMPER FI!
