How to restore your iphone 4, 3gs using SHSH files saved in cydia/tiny umbrella, or ishshit

@Vestanine hey are you making sure to start the tss server within tiny umbrella before itunes is open? Make sure you do so. u might also want to check your hosts files if you are not familiar with this a simple google search will help.

ok i got a question well i was trying to unlock my phone using gevey sim card but didnt work so they told me that i needed to restore my phone to factory settings so i was trying to do and i have been tryng to do. first i downlloaded tinyumbrella and well conected the iphone to the host whatever then i placed my iphone on DFU mode so i could restore it using shift restore on itunes but i got error 1016 ok well i reseached and was able to fix that now when i try to restore and it gets stuck :O

@votballer hey whats the problem exactly?? if you give me some more detail on what exactly is going on and what you want to do i will be able to help you. Also try to watch our fix itunes error for 4.2.1 because it works on all firmwares.

saving SHSH... does it save a backup of al info on your phone? such as personal settings and contacts etc??

I am thinking of purchasing an iPad in the future. I was just wondering will my SHSH files from my iphone 3Gs work on my new iPad in case i want to downgrade it from let's say ios 4.3, or does the SHSH file only works on iphone.

@jaimejerezano1 hey you had to save the firmware shsh before apple moved on to a higher version. Once they move on you are no longer able to get the blobs.

@Chrisjaldin I already download the firmware I have SHSH on (3.1.2) when the process of restoring finishes it appears error 1015 and when I exist recorvery mode with TinyUmbrella. It doesn't exist its on emergency mode I guess. Can't do anything.

@Chrisjaldin are you puting your phone into dfu mode before restoring? also you can try and kick it out of recovery mode using quick pwn rc3.
