At 2:07 He says He is like a worm when compared with Greats like the Burmans, Salil Chowdary and others. True caliber of an artist rests in their honesty. Ilayaraaja is a TRUE ARTIST. I was listening to one of his songs earlier today: does anyone remember "Raagavane Ramana" from Ilamai Kalangal? Listen to the strings (violins) in that song and you will instantly know why SPB praised his ORCHESTRATION. When it came to orchestration, Ilayaraaja was the best. I miss it in today's music! Do you?

Good to see at last after so many delays and stops - Illayaraja Sir is getting the recognition from Central Govt of India. (National Award)

And yet it will be incomplete until he is honored with "Bharat Ratna" in near future along with, 1) M S Subbulakshmi 2) Ravi Shankar 3) Lata Mangeshkar 4) Bismillah Khan 5) Bhimsen Joshi

The First Asian to score a Symphony for RPO, London. Along with 5000 songs for 900 Films deserves it !! God of Indian Music = Illayaraja.

I assume so all of Illayaraja Sir's fans will also feel like me.

Next to God, my mother I am daily crying after listening to Sir's musical compositions.

I am deeply moved by Sir's knowledge and depth in music creation which includes songs, BGM, Sir's singing. There is no one in India & outside = Illayaraja Sir.

I am not biased here and only musicians know what I am meaning.

I was very angry that this genius was not recognised till this Jan by Govt of India.

God of Indian Music = Illayaraja

But still Govt of India is like sleeping until Honouring Ilayaraja Sir - Bharat Ratna in years to come to put him in list below :-

Truely this Indian film composer, singer, lyricist and the first Asian composer to score a symphony with over 4,500 songs and 900 film BGM scores -- deserve it..
