I laugh at people when they call Zeppelin heavy metal... Heavy Blues yes, amongst many other things but heavy metal NO WAY... If you call them Heavy Metal you've never listened to them!
@beroth77 I also laugh at grown men that think they're hilarious and rebuttal with something that I'd expect from a child. It's okay, at least you have you're "excellent" singing career. With your impeccable ability to speak proper English with proper grammar, you know, commas, periods, exclamation points, etc, and your childish answers, you'll be able to go FAR...wait, your 30+ and trolling on YouTube while thinking your "amazing" band will go somewhere other than your biker bar down the road..
@hip27fan I agree. Heavy metal bands are tighter and less improvisational. The first heavy metal band to break into the mainstream was Black Sabbath. Deep Purple, Cactus, Vanilla Fudge, Iron Butterfly, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sir Lord Baltimore and others of the era had heavy metal SONGS but were not heavy metal BANDS.
@weavermomo I get what you're saying... BUT, you should youtube "a jack white guitar solo". It might be the second link. I get that White is just trying to be page... but he does an outstanding solo. Page can be a little sloppy at times, probably on purpose. But jack does a great page-esque solo without the looseness.
As dopped out of his mind on heroin Jimmy Page was while on stage throughout the 70's, he could still come up with emmotional and moving guitar solos and performances like this one - and you call them sloppy...
drugs can not only kill people but music also. J. Page is one of my favorite guitar player of all times ,and I know he is great....but......sometimes it sucks... This is a FANTASTIC SONG but I know better covers than this JP performance.....sorry
@catsfromhell1 They ended the tour after his son died. The last US tour for Zeppelin. This song was always one of their favorites unlike Stairway that Plant had gotten to the point of not wanting to play.

I actually died and came back to life, when I was listening to this song. No posthumous wankery whatsoever. Pure grandeur.

Plant sounds pretty good, Jones is holding it down as usual, Bonzo's ripping it up, but Page is, well, kind of out of it.
