  • waste time and money at the paint

  • Good to see a redesign of the good old 747.

  • where do the old seats go?

  • @efastMixer the old seats will be sent to the scrap heap

  • awesome

  • There's always that one dumbass that says that the video is fake...

  • i wonder which airport was this work done i wouldnt be surprised if it was done overseas

  • @varcolac5 All the work on the 747 redevelopment is taking place in Avalon, Victoria

  • @damcool432 Actually the exterior work is done in China as no airport in Australia has the facilities to accommodate a 747 repaint.

  • @varcolac5 The interior work was carried out in Avalon, Victoria but the exterior work is done in China as no airport in Australia can accomodate a full 747 repaint.

  • 747-400er aka longreach i believe. Love seeing them arrive here at dfw great airline

  • Cant wait

  • Fake

  • @selac66 Fake? On Qantas' official channel. You are sooo intelligent.

  • @selac66 How is it fake

  • Glad to see QANTAS is still flying. haven't heard about industrial action in a week now. i hope both parties have found an acceptable compromise.

  • Awesome

  • CommanderMarines - whole job was done at the Qantas maintenance centre at Avalon...

  • What a Waste of time & Money of refurbishing an old B747-400 they should invest in the new B747-8i & the 787 will be eventually in the fleet which is good too see, Mayb get rid of those old ugly B767 & get some B777's too & of couse the A350 when eventually comes into the market....

  • @TheFsJunkie No, they should not buy the 747-8, especially when they've ordered so many A380s. The 777 will take too long to get delivered, and hence the 787 will be superior. And the A350 is virtually a 787. Besides, having so many A/C results in higher operating costs as each mechanic needs to be trained in new aircraft. But Yes, refurbishing the 744 (and definitely the 744ER) is a good option as it will be in the fleet for a fair while yet.

  • @TheFsJunkie Dude, they aren't refurbishing all of their 747s cos the oldest one, VH-OJA was delivered in 1989. But the 3 B744s and 6 B744ers they are refurbishing were built in 1999-2000 and 2002 - 2003 so they are relatively young and will be in the fleet probably for another 8 years at least. So it's definitely worth refurbishing them! And wtf!? The 767 is not an ugly plane! And they will be replaced by a330 and 787 so they don't need the a350 really

  • WOW, looks great Qantas!

  • Looks great! Only thing that I don't like are the green seats. I personally think that the economy class would look better if all the seats were red.

  • no probs brisbane?

  • looks like it was painted in hong kong airport?

  • What was the new paint job for?

  • @wearebeetlejuice it was to put the plane in the new qantas livery

  • are you gonna replace all of them????

  • Im sorry but Qantas needs to get rid of them green coloured seats!

  • cool
