The Boto has a brain 40% larger than that of a human, and in comparison, it is roughly equal to or slightly larger than that it's more famous cousin, the bottlenose dolphin. So, it is likely that the boto rivals the bottlenose in intellect, and yet we do not know much about this species because we haven't invested nearly any amount of time towards learning about its habits. Sad that it's endangered, and pity that we might lose such a fascinating creature, forever.
Nice animal it looks like that bird the Hummingbird underwater .But hope we can keep this great animal for ever, because i heard that there becoming extinct.
@hmj211 i think most of the sounds are birds and people.. lots of parrots and large billed terns were around.. the only sounds i ever heard the dolphins making was a 'whoosh' as they expelled air when they surfaced.. while i am sure they make other sounds i did not notice them.
South American fisherman used to bang the pink dolphins of Brazil sick bastards that they were. And they said they used to resond like human women & they felt like they were banging regular women being that they r warm blooded hence they were warm & tight inside. Wild,True & Sick.
@ed11561 this is a such an old history, almost a legend. Nowadays those people know how important animals like pink dolphins are important, for nature and for tourism.
@pagaropato Let's hope they don't kill them for sport or food.
Fishermen in South America used to pull the female dolphins from the water & screw them on shore & they used to brag how they felt like real women because alfter all they are warm blooded mammals that have vaginas like real women.NOT A STORY- A FACT. Look it up.I even saw an old fisherman tell the story on National Geographic years ago. There are women that swore the male dolphin got them pregnant but that was nonsense.Good luck
Glad you liked the pics.. They are beautiful to watch and at Manaus they often come right up to the pier. Also as someone else noted they , like other dolphins, are mammals.
when a dolphin makes that sound it means it likes you

its not pink or red its just the water
vmzkck913 5 months ago
They look light grey, in dirty water - this make them orange-pink when they swim a few inches underwater. I haven't seen them live though.

I'm not a scientist, but I'm pretty sure that's not a dolphin. It looks like a deformed fish or platapus or something.
No1CeltsFan4Life 8 months ago
@No1CeltsFan4Life Actually, an Amazon River Dolphin. No platypus in the Amazon River as far as I know.

@MoisesPortillo96 It definitely would be a shame to lose it, unfortunately they will have to compete with increased development along the river

notice when they went to serfes they are grey
undertakerrocksman 1 year ago
@undertakerrocksman If my sources are correct they become pinker as they age, starting with the belly
johnfredeen 1 year ago
@undertakerrocksman
they are pink, just like pigs. the color variation is due to the black water of the river

Are the dolphins the ones making those squeaking and chirping noises?
