  • Just goes to show that people will still listen to whatever they want, even if it's forbidden.

Danke.

  • What a rare and remarkable record! "Swing Tanz" might have been officially "verboten" but it obviously didn't deter musicians from making great swing records like this one. Thank you also for all the valuable information you give - it's greatly appreciated.

  • I have a handful of Polydor labels in my collection- pressed after the war but from pre 1945 takes. The wax of the takes got stamped or inscribed "Deposit". I can only guess that they got censored and were deposited in the archives because they were either "swing" or belonged to the "Italy wave" and were banned when the "Duce" lost his power and Italy changed sides.

  • WoW, this is great! I've playlisted music for every year back to 1900, so you can hear the evolution of pop music over 5 generations.

It's a trip back in time with just the click of your mouse, and my great thanks to all the uploaders who make it possible by including the release years ! ! ! !

  • Brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing this most remarkable rarity.

  • Fine you like it. I should mention that violin player Herbert Mytteis formed his own band after the war. His music became gradually less jazzy then, but more distinctive from other bands ...

  • Wonderful record. Sounds a bit like several different small groups but still distinctive.
