  • This is one my my favorite games ever, this is truly new step in the game development and people need to take notice.

  • I love it. Love the story, the narrator, the weapons, the art style... all of it...

I love the Machete/Musket combo. I love the feeling of being almost completely alone in this melancholy, destroyed world. I love the storybook style of presenting the story and The Kid himself.

The combat works great. The progression allows you to play how you want all the time...

  • play it twice? PFFFFT.. i've played it 6 times

  • I'd easily pay 70$ for this game :)

  • @MrLunkie Woah. I wouldn't pay $70 for any game, let alone a short indie game. It's damn amazing, but the max i'd spend is $15

  • I just hope that one day I can work with a guy as awesome as Greg and on a team as awesome as Supergiant

  • I would buy this just to support Greg since he's given countless epic video reviews!

  • The shrine system is more like adding skulls in halo. they add a variety of effects that make the game harder, but most don't simply just make the enemies stronger.

  • Got this from Steam the other day. Best purchase in months, amazing game I seriously reccomend it. Also, buy it with the soundtrack cos' you'll fall in love with the music.

  • Would you mind shutting your mouth? I want to listen to the narrator. Just kidding :) Bastion is an amazing game.

  • Used to love Greg Kasavin's reviews on Gamespot :D

  • Women want the narrator and men want the narrator.

  • real men dont mute the narrato...they listen to it and love it XD

  • @TheSnipersLegacy why would you mute him? hes soothing, badass, one hell of a good voice actor and it sets the mood PERFECTLY.

  • @blarghdude55 i know that i was saying XD

  • @TheSnipersLegacy and i agreed?

  • @blarghdude55 ....huh im confused XD

  • This guy answers 75% of questions with "Yeah" ..

  • @whatevaUsay2 Which is why Deus Ex is so good, it has the best soundtrack i've ever heard.

  • I'd get this... but I spent all my money on the Deus Ex Aug Edition. D: Mneh, i'll still get it.

  • BEST INDIE GAME OF THE YEAR - Period! :D I'd buy the development team a round of beer if I could :D

  • did anybody else realize there was no narrator (unless subtitles were off but they should be on)

  • @tyrelle000 pro tip: click the unmute button and maybe you'll hear the narrator -.- obviously the subs are off

  • By not playing this game you are only cheating yourself. Yes, it's THAT good.

As a plus, the soundtrack is simply ICONIC. Think old SNES games that even after you beat it ONCE the music gets stuck in your head and you actually don't want it to go away. It's not the same case here for it's even BETTER.

This game is a true gem.

  • dont want to ruin the surprise for anyone...but i just finished the game....and this is not the best indie game ever mede.......this is possibly the best game EVER made.....the quality, the feel, the gameplay....and of course the story......aboslutely perfect! .... do yourself as a game a favour and PLAY IT NOW!

  • @derrickhayden I completely agree :) have been playing it since i bought it

  • Thank you for showing me Bastion TB I love you man

  • The games out on PC now, for anyone looking to get it. On Steam. :)

  • Just got it on 360, really fun game so far.

  • Kassadin es #1

    Heu heu heu heu

  • Greg Kassadin?

    Can he rift walk?

  • Looking forward to this game, will definitely be a nice change from the usual FPS or Strategy games...

  • it's always great to hear greg's voice..

  • Can't wait for this on Steam :D

  • ummm guys? it's releasing on steam on the 16... you all realize that steam has a search function that i was spamming until it came out on there right?

  • The soundtrack from this game is fucking AMAZING. Can't wait for August 16th!

  • Please steam.... let me play this game! D:

  • Every video has a advertisment for TotalHalibut

  • IS THAT GREG FROM GAMESPOT(really old) !?!?!

  • @TheLonesomeJack yeah, I think so

  • @TheLonesomeJack well his name is greg and he used to work at gamespot....... ._.

  • @TheLonesomeJack O_O holy shit it is, he has the same name and voice! O_O

He was THE BEST reviewer of ALL the reviewers of the time! So awsome =D

    I hadn`t noticed if you didn`t comment! =P

  • This whole game reminds me of the arcane plane in Diablo 2 act 2.

  • GEtting it when it comes to pc!:D

    ps.

Fuck the 360, I only use it as a door stopper!

  • @Clerkz how dare you sir!

  • Haha..I was listening to this...and I was...I know that voice....of the guy who got interviewed..and it's a reviewer from old times gamespot!:D a-ha!

  • great interview totalbiscuit, and an equally great interview partner. loved it.

  • @Mezzaaaaa your way off and your opinion is not fact the same as mine is not fact so drop it

  • I was about to go find my 360 and blow the dust off of it, then he said that it's coming to PC. Crisis avoided.

  • @Randoh13 Leave that thing where it belongs, in the ground.

  • @Mezzaaaaa That's an ad hominem. That persons age has no bearing on their argument. I don't know what this shadowxfiend101 said, and I'm not saying that it's correct or not.

  • @Mezzaaaaa fear 3 is the best fear 1 is the most boring game i ever played

  • hmmm can't wait for TB's WTF for this, this is just one of the most amazing games i've seen in a long ass time

  • Bastion is a lot of fun, I'm LP'ing it if anyone's interested.

  • Greg Kasavin has a very distinct voice. Hard to forget from his days with Gamespot.

  • OMG!! I'm having flashback of Saga Frontier, I miss game like this!, I need more games like this, enough of 3d shooting!

  • TB, you have a boner for this game.

Good man, your not the only one.

  • Who are you Greg Kasavin?

    ...a gamespot reviewer...

always in my heart. : (

  • @kvj1989 Ok kid

  • @HTSRyan Ok little girl:)

    Bastion sucks.

  • The game is in 2D, fuck yeah!!!

  • did he say... multiple hats?

  • Oh wow, Greg Kasavin from GS? I used to love his reviews. Glad to see he's doing well.

  • I still remember watching video reviews on gamespot from Greg!

  • Ps3 release!!! pleaaaaaase

  • I wish this would come out for PSN....

  • @betaman1 Don't :P. He tried it once, and it simply wasn't his thing.

  • Bastion is amazing. I'm LP'ing it if anyone's interested.

  • Hey Greg, get TB as a voice actor in your next game!

  • quite alot of interviewer from the other video?

  • Is this game's engine a Lamborghini V12?

  • The one thing I like about xbox is they always get these cool indie games

  • @racismisfunny1 Like Steam?

  • I'll pick this up when it comes to PC :) (Steam please!)

  • @Fudwinkle Well your in luck then it get's released on Steam next Tuesday but unlike Limbo which was cheaper on the PC, the PC version of Bastion will be 14.99 the same as XBLA

  • @Evilmonkey66699 or you can pre-order on steam for £11.49 :P

  • @lukescammell Yeah if your in the UK, if your in the US it's still 14.99 even for the pre-order and I should know I pre-ordered it yesterday

  • @Fudwinkle came out today

  • Nonlinear (lateral) item and skill progression. MASSIVE WIN!!

  • @Philijongon hello :D

  • @The420Community Personally, I'm actually saving up for other downloadable games. Both expansions for Fallout: New Vegas, the add-ons for Marathon: Durandal, and possibly Braid or maybe Limbo if I can afford them. If Bastion were 800 then I'd definitely switch Braid/Limbo out for it, but as is I think I'd rather hold off until the price drops.

I'm not trying to put down indie games, I think they look awesome and would love to play them, but I honestly don't have enough cash to get everything.

  • "ah ah ya ya w-well you you got ah 3 out ah 4 right" lol

  • What do you mean this want made on drugs?

  • @The420Community Saying that those games are only good because they are sequels does not change the facts, they are still good games in their own right.

  • .com/?i=437661

  • please go to mspointscodes

  • Looks like DeathSpank to me..

  • I subscribed even doe you are a cynical brit

  • I think this game looks fantastic and I'd really like to get it, but I looked it up on the XBOX marketplace, and it costs 1200 Microsoft Points...that's way too much, especially for a 200 gamerscore arcade game.

Maybe, once the price goes down, that's when I'll fork over my digital dinero, but until then I think I'll just make do with watching a let's play or such.

  • @Influx27 Why would gamerscore have anything to do with how good or how much value for money a game is?

If you think gamerscore makes you cool then you are sorely mistaken.

  • @jpchevron Sorry, I used gamerscore mainly as a shorthand for the various achievements, and following the "hero's journey" theory for stories that Joseph Campbell put forward, achievements are kind of the magical object that you the gamer are able to walk away with; and yeah, pure gamerscore itself isn't terribly important, but at the same time it does give weight to the achievements.

So maybe Bastion would be awesome, but for it's price I have to be more economical than say yes to it.

  • @Joshimuz And so? it is possible to record Xbox 360 gameplay if TB wants and if he doesnt want he can wait for the PC version yes the PC version might take months but i didnt ask for it NOW

  • now i wish i hadnt sold my xbox >_<

  • i look at the top.. 1,000 vids :O

  • I remember this guy doing reviews for Gamespot. I always enjoyed his reviews.

  • @Mezzaaaaa Co-op is not simplification, and again, your opinion on F3AR doesnot prove my point, if i like Fear 3 it is my business. And there is no question FEAR3 is a good game.

  • Why does his voice sound so familiar??? Where might I know him from?

  • @BHarrisDesign Gamespot?

  • 1000 videos of TB's smashing commentary and what is the grand number 1000? A Starcraft 2 vid. Fuck. Yes.

  • @Mezzaaaaa Its a massive im improvement over its predecessors, and your opinion on FEAR3 Does not disprove my point.

  • Greg is the russian totalbiscuit

  • Greg KASSADIN?

  • Greg and TB look very alike

  • If it comes on Steam it'll be an insta-buy for me.

  • Greg is a fucking legend nuf said.

  • the narrator sounds like jim raynor

  • Pls make this a wtf is. Thats alot more interesting than this xD

  • Haven't heard anything from greg a long long time. Glad to see him back! :D

  • Geez This Game Looks So Awesome. I cant wait to do A Walkthrough on my channel. Tommrow

  • Fuck yeah Giant Bomb!

  • An indie game? Warner Brothers games.... lol I think not.

  • @Disgruntled0goat They are only the publishers.

  • @Disgruntled0goat famous developers, smal company, mostlikely an sucsess, go figure why WB is an sponsor

  • Looks amazing.

  • ah hes the gamspot guy. no wonder his voice sounded so familiar

  • :O :) :P XD

  • do you guys think it would be better to just buy the 360 version or wait for the PC. I play both about the same amount.

  • 999 Vids TB!! congrats!

  • surreality is the essence of a quality game imo.

  • reminds me of Dark Coud

  • Everybody haaates Chris!

  • TotalBiscuit uses the Giant Bomb Wiki? Awesome!

  • anyone else notice this guy stuttering quite a bit? Says like so many words two times in a row like every sentence. He must be nervous.

  • @gegezerg I don't think English was his first language. He came over from Russia some time prior to working at GameSpot.

  • Greg sounds like Tom Green :D

  • worked for EA on command and conquer? this is gonna fail already...

  • I'll be let's playing this game. Most likely with subtitles, though. I don't want to do audio commentary when there's a narrator.

  • Shia LaBeouf?

  • I miss Greg's reviews on Gamespot. He was always my favorite reviewer. I still remember his 12 hour TES: Oblivion marathon.

  • I hate the protagonist, the rest is ok

  • I'm glad to see some people understood what I ment. There are plenty of great AAA titles and indeed, not all indie titles are good.

But as some people said already- indie developers dare to experiment new ideas, as opposed to most AAA devs, which answer to the suits and rather rehash stuff we've seen before which proven itself.

I rather exprience new concepts rather then play the same FPS I played a few months ago, with better graphics.

  • hey, 998 videos... anything special for 1000?

  • @Makkovar Totalbiscuit

So close to 1000 videos, 400k subs and 100 WTF is. Christ what the hell am I going to do for that?

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I had an Xbox.... :(

  • @Jopas1996 it's coming to P.C.... did you not listen to the whole thing?

  • @alex1tweney But it comes for Xbox first. I'll just have to be patient

  • 1000th video special 1 hour wtf is

  • @idonahari1

So Indie games copy The Beatles lyrics? Didn't get the analogy.

  • Why is this not on PC? This kind of game is loved by the communtiy

  • @MrZilko If you read the description it says its getting a PC release later on.

  • Comment removed

  • well he was a pleasant guy, sounds like the developers actually have a clue.

  • Hopefully indie games emphasis on great gameplay will rub off on the big publishing houses

  • Greg really like to say "uhm"

  • @Errathetube Yeah its called thinking about what you say without spouting charismatic bull shit

  • Why are indie games so much better than non indie games recently??

  • @Ainslie6 because unlike non indie games. indie game designers work in small teams. they can easily change thing's without causing a ton of work for other people. and they can talk about how the game should go. indie game's KNOW what a game should be like unlike non indie games

  • @Ainslie6 because they are not bound to restrictions and are not passing any converences like: will this game bring more money that it actually costs and how much more exactly and blabla. which grew almost to a science and is utterly bullshit.

call it: around 1995 till like wow came out everything was "indie" and amazing. stuff today is overdone and you know what hurt the gamers most: casual.

  • @Nhordmyr wow came out in 2004 and EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING? dude you don't know what you are talking about indie? no if you are talking about mario and zelda those are big companies that costed around 85$ when they came out, don't act like that was golden age, and don't make yourself look stupid...

  • @udienowisay almost every game in the action and rpg genre was amazing. clearly, yes. i'm neither a wow fan, nor will i ever have something to do with it except the soundtrack. i'm speaking of a milestone. if you are in pc gaming for as long as i am, than you see from here on a clear indicator that everything more or less got casualized and put into series'.

  • Meh looks boring :3

  • @Aishaatana ...!

  • Ex-EA devs trying to make a game involving finesse....HEH

  • iv been waiting for this game for months...im so excited to finally play the game!!! :D

  • Loving the art style.

    Loving the atmosphere.

Loving their take on in-game 'difficulty'.

Can't wait for this to come to PC.

  • @fufuguy1 I concour.

  • I thnk the game style looks very unique, looking foward to it

  • Just got 2 of your shirts that i ordered, they are FREAKING amazing

  • What defines an 'Indie' game? I used to think it was a lone independent developer, but loads of 'indie' companies have quite a few members. Is it a development company that doesn't use a publisher?

For example; Minecraft, is it indie any more? They have a fairly big team now, and another company porting it to Xbox.

  • @LightninLew One wich is not funded by someone else,

Like being funded by Activision and so on

  • @OMGCoolGaming Ah I see, So Treyarch aren't indie because they are funded by Activision, and Activision aren't indie because they sell shares and have loads of investors. I knew it was something like that, I just couldn't think of how to put it.

  • @LightninLew "porting it to xbox"? no that's a different game, yes its an obvious rip off. only 5things different and not even significant enough to make it much different...

  • @joegrifta What? Minecraft is being ported to the Xbox. If you are talking about Total Miner, that's a completely different game and it's not that bad.

  • @LightninLew Ok yeah never mind, I must've not seen the post by notch about it going to xbox, but i found it on page of his blog. : / interesting i didn't know.

  • @joegrifta Yeah they haven't really publicised it too much because they aren't allowed to give things away, which to me makes no sense, what could they possibly give away when it's already out on PC? I hope this doesn't mean they are adding xbox exclusive features and messing with the game too much.

  • Looks boring i dont think the world need an other of this
