  • ip man was the mentor of bruce lee

  • to ridget

  • Did someone actually say WSL Never fought??? lol

  • Epic music for such a great hero... He often doesnt get the respect he should.

Does anyone know who did the music for this?

  • Sorry but the Wing chun master champion of the 20th Century was Ip man ( I wanna be the 1st of the 21st)

  • @Krzysztof7260

Wouldn't David Peterson be the first of the 21st? :)

  • this is awesome, does this talk about WSL's fight history too? i've heard he's been in a lot of fights so i'd be really interested in reading about that

  • I had never before heard that WSL was as good as Bruce Lee. I had heard that Bruce wished he was as good as WSL. I have never heard of anyone claiming to be as good as WSL. He was the "King of Chi Sao"

  • This video was made just to sell a book ... and this business of a dead man is a truth!

  • "Look beyond the pointing finger." I love this quote. Almost the same as Pointing the finger to the moon from Bruce Lee. cuz the man pointing the finger might be wong sheung leung or Bruce Lee and they'll both send you to the moon. haha

  • The martial art field in Hong Kong all know how good the late WONG Shun Leung was. He actually had tought Bruce Lee some Wing Chun techniques as senior student of IP Man 'Sifu' occasionally B4 Bruce went to US. Their were comments said that WONG was as good as Bruce and being the only one that Bruce could not beat in HK!

  • Wong sucked lol ho kim mang was sicker lol

  • @dragob732

Ok my friend ,no problem .. Wong was the best. Luckily there are removed from the balls, despite his students use him to sell books and to advertise their courses of wing chun.

    Peace Marvel

  • @Marvel952

not to rub it in, but at /watch?v=tEB3NEdfLRA

they talk about him as a seasoned vet of actual combat and how he was a 'challenge fighter'

  • @dragob732

If you watch his video you can see that Sifu Wong had no knowledge of actual combat. Its soo ridiculous positions and he has no structure. Here you, however, affirmed that he was the best fighter wing chun ... but this is a ridiculous statement and painful.

His knowledge of fighting is poor.

  • @Marvel952

Thats a brave statement coming from somebody who has 'sifu' sergio & emin boztepe videos uploaded. Can u actually point to anything that Wong does that is so clearly ridiculous and lacking in structure? cos what i've seen shows somebody that is equal to any other guy on youtube really, and for most a damn sight better.

  • @Donkyfishy

I have many videos on my channel, not just those sifu sifu Emin and sifu Sergio. You say that Sifu Wong was the best fighter in wing chun sistem .. I do not have the same opinion!

  • @Marvel952

I never said Wong was the best fighter in Wing Chun, although he does seem a reasonable nomination. Opinion is fair enough but I hav trained with fair few different WC lineages & I hav never met any more obsessed & knowledgeable then the WSL guys when it comes to structure. Most of the others focus on things like flow, sensitivity chi etc. So between ur comment & ur masses of random Kung fu vids I wonder if you even know WC & what qualifies u to disrespect a well respected WC figure?

  • @Donkyfishy

I know the WSL wing chun because he is a lineage that I knew many years ago.

I do not consider WSL a good teacher, because he did not include the Wing Chun Ip Man.

There are many wing chun good teachers in the world..

    greetings

    Marvel

  • @Marvel952

greetings, WSL himself is dead so I imagine he wouldnt make an ideal teacher, what do u mean by 'he did not include the Wing Chun Ip Man'? cos as far as Im aware his Wing Chun was learnt from Ip man directly & he represented Ip man/WC at beimo. His forms & drills are almost identical (assuming we are talkin about genuine/good Ip man Wing chun, sadly anybody can stick a name on their 'system', this is true for WSL as well) to Ip man's. Sadly I think there are very few good WC teachers

  • @Donkyfishy

I know that WSL has been dead for years .. I was talking of his lineage.

He has been practicing wing chun hard and did not understand the true essence of Wing Chun of his master(Ip Man). The real essence of wing chun is the union of hard and soft, but WSL applied only the hard part of wing chun. He had studied only this hard version Wing Chun ( Chan Wah Shun wing chun) and he did not know the version of Leung Bik.

  • @Marvel952

ah, I see. Fair enough, cheers for the info exchange.

  • @Marvel952: you are completely WRONG in your assessment of Wong Shun Leung's knowledge, fighting prowess and training history. I don't know who you think you are, or upon what you base your ridiculous claims, but Wong Shun Leung DID learn the complete system from Ip Man and his reputation is founded in FACT.

  • @dragob732

I disagree with your opinion. Emin Boztepe is very strong. He is a real fighter. Sifu Wong was a master, but did not know the real street fight.

    Greetings

    Marvel

  • ..the greatest Wing Chun fighter...????

    Do you remeber Emin Boztepe?

  • J'adore ce livre! si quelqu'un est intéressé par le Ving Tsun, Wing Chun WSL, si vous êtes débutant comme moi, ou non, ce livre est a ne surtout pas manquer!!

    Cheers from France

  • Wong is king in my book, just look at the level of students he has produced!

That's a good way to rate a master on who comes after him!

  • Bruce lee´s teacher was Yip man guys

  • If you don't know about Wong Shun Leung, then you don't know about Bruce Lee. Learn to research, kid.

  • How long do you actually do the 1st form for? So many schools do if differently some are like 5 mins some 20 and some 45mins

  • @iskkarate we generally train the SNT form from between 15-20 mins, but there is nothing wrong with doing it for longer if you have the time to do so. It is always adviseable that you do not rush through SNT - doing the actions quickly is counter-productive to the goals of the form.

  • I've traveled to every continent except Antarctica. Played Chi Sao with many different guys and honestly, this Aussie bloke is the real deal.

If you're ever in Melbourne stop by the his club and absorb all that you can.

  • I love the Mc Chun thing. I've chi saoed with Leung Ting students and there's nothing there. I can't feel anything in their roll at all. They rush through their SLT not realising what its for

  • @MERVILLE3 cuz leung ting sucks

  • This guy has respect in Europe, the US and in Hong Kong.

If you're lucky enough to be in Melbourne Australia and you are serious about learning good wing chun. Get yourself down to this guys school and at least meet him and talk with him.

    Seriously you wont regret it.

  • LOL Mr. Peterson teaches chinese at my school!

  • @paksao I lived in Melbourne for a year and trained with David and his top students. I call David "Sifu" now, and WSLVT made me completely change my 14yrs of Wing Chun training. I re-learned Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu and Chi Sao.

I'm a quick 6'5" 229lbs former amateur boxer/martial artist. Because of David Peterson and the Melbourne Chinese Martial Arts Club, I finally have some good Gung Fu, and not simply athletic ability.

  • He taught WING CHUN!

Not McChun like Ting, Cheung and Leung and other bozo Yip Man students who who don't have a fucking clue.

  • William Cheung has no clue? no clue what your talking about

  • mchun hahahah nice dude.. but hey as a side thought.. wouldnt you say the kung fu of a person is beyond who their teacher was.. like you can teach them 1 punch and one kick and their skill with it could defeat 10,000 foes.. or you can teach them tons and tons and yet they have nothing?.. so an awesome teacher can have a crappy student and a mchun restaurant can serve up a healthy meal.. i do not pay much attention to the names of the branches.. but simply notice differences in the basic stuff

  • One thing that proves Wong is really a great Wing Chun fighter is that he is short, even shorter than Bruce.

If his Wing Chun is not great, he couldn't beat a normal strong person, let alone other bigger fighters. :)

  • @developer108 Being short and winning is not what is amazing about him. And by the way, short people are also 'normal'.
