It takes a money tree growing in your backyard to maintain the M70 motor. For this reason, 750s are worth very little these days not to mention high fuel consumption.
"Economic efficiency & environmental compatibility" LOL I have a BMW E39 built in 2001 with the M54 2.2L engine. I'm averaging 21 MPG on a 70 litre tank costing £80 ($127) & the road tax is expensive as the CO2 emissions are high. Not sure how a V12 engine built back in the 80's can be economic :) By the way, for some reason I was expecting the German guy to do the Nazi salute after he finished speaking :)
@ba10foru I feel yah. i have spent 8K restoring a perfect looking 735i I bought for 2K, but it is 23 year old, but I knew what I was getting into...everything made out of rubber has been replaced. Was voted most reliable by insurance agency in early 90's. Go E32!
I got the Alusil engine replacement some time ago. Compared to the Nikasil built one, does it perform better? I've heard people say that it produces less smoke and has better idling.
the worst car ever built period. had to replace everything on that car, sold it for $1500 in the end. Had a 5 series also and had nothing but reliability issues out of it to. Wont ever buy BMW crap again. Ever wonder why they lose there value so quick compared to other quality cars.

The BMW 5.0 v12 wasnt that revolutionary, the Jaguar 5.3 litre V12 was designed in 1971 and made the same power, torque and was just as refined as the BMW V12, it was also more reliable than the initially troublesome BMW engine
Ys it's the V8

Que gran coche, lastima del consumo en una epoca de combustibles extremadamente caros.... Es cierto el motor mostrado es un M60 de 8 cilindros...

Haha! True. Probably an overpaid nutcase producer who thought the M60 was more "chic".

The engine they show in this film is acctually an M60 V8
Kapitalrentabilitet 2 years ago 31
i don't get it why they do that
phas3rrr 2 years ago
@Kapitalrentabilitet Compared with the M70, can the M60 keep up with it when the speed limiter is removed? (It only has 18 less horsepower)

Wow, this car can top out at 155mph with the governer off!
cmann303 2 years ago
i would have expected faster 0-60 than 7.4
russefireballs93 2 years ago
ehh, you have to dinan chip it. It takes off the governer and makes it way faster.
cmann303 2 years ago
it`s the automatic gear box that makes it slow.
nandoanalog 2 years ago
i dont think the 750 even came with a stick, i know some 735is came with 6speed.
ponchoyo 1 year ago
@ponchoyo True. The 750i was auto only. And that's a great part of what makes it slow. It was possible to fit a 850 csi in it though.
nandoanalog 1 year ago
well it does weigh 1800kg, so you have to give it some slack.

That's true because we all know how strict emissions were in 1971 compared to 1987. About the same, right? Didn't think so.
Pintac87 2 years ago
that doesnt really make too much sense my friend...
monkeyboy27476 2 years ago
the 750i wasnt introduced till the end of '87, it was just the 730i and 735i till then...
