thank you for the song. I personally knew Archie Dennis, I work for Morris Cerullo World Evengelism when Archie was the worship for Dr. Cerullo. He served in that ministry for over 30 years until his untimely death on Oct 26, 2001. I really miss him.
FROM THE LORD'S CHURCH WEBSITE: ...This act of faith in God began with Alfred Miller and the Milleraires of Brooklyn, New York. Later, his rich, vibrant voice was heard across the country in churches, concert halls and on recordings with the Maceo Woods Singers and the Roberta Martin Singers of Chicago Illinois. Academy of Music. Many of his spirit-filled songs such as "I've Never Seen the Righteous Forsaken" were published and sung during this period....
Archie Lee Dennis, Jr. was born into a singing family on December 20, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Archie L. Dennis, Sr. and Bernice Marie Dennis. His mother Bernice was a member of a female, a-cappella quintet. His father Archie Sr., was the lead singer of the "Dennis Four", a favorite Pittsburgh quartet, comprised of his sister and two brothers who had a radio broadcast every Sunday morning for over 30 years.
I've been searching for music by Archie Dennis and group. I used to live next to he and his wife in Pgh. They were two of the kindest people you could ever meet.
I have two of Archie's albums. He was an incredible artist. It's a shame that his music has not made it to CD. A very anointed singer and extremely accomplished arranger, or whoever it was that did his arrangements was very progressive and talented.
Thank you so much for posting this. I met Archie Dennis in Detroit at Bethesda Missionary Temple. He visited us often at Faith Temple in Rochester, NY. We visited his church in Pittsburgh when he hosted Danniebelle Hall.
I loved this man dearly. He was such a sweet anointed man of God. I never grew tired of hearing him sing his signature song "I've Never Seen the Righteous Forsaken". What I wouldn't give to have a video of that. We miss you Archie!
Good to hear the voice of Archie Dennis again. I have had the fortune to have heard him in Calcutta many years ago. His deep commitment to the Lord comes thru & stirs one up.
I can't believe you have a clip of the late Archie Dennis! He used to come and sing with us on the Love Special when I was traveling with Nancy Harmon! He would start out on "It Had To Be God" and end with "Never Seen The Righteous Forsaken" and shout the house down doin it "Grandma Style." RIP Bro. Archie! We all miss and love him still.
Alright now!! I like that! That's one of those old foot stomping, hand clapping shouting songs that have a true message: We can do NOTHING without Jesus.
Archie Dennis was probably the only RMS who would sing a song like this
