@MrGriser The last 108s were withdrawn in 1993. It had been intended to refurbish Lonsight's 108s. However after the collision at Hyde North Junction 0n 22/8/90, it was shown that the 108s were not in very good structural condition and the report on the accident recommended their withdrawal as soon as possible. Class 101s were refurbished instead. The 108s were always my favourite first generation DMUs. They always seemed to be used on Liverpool LS - Wigan Wallgate services prior to Pacers.
45/1s on York trans pennine, occaisionally 40s. Mostly 47s.
83 or 85s on Brum/Paddington or Plymouths.
Euston normally 86s occasionally n87s.
Deltics started coming regularly in 1980 after they were displaced on ecml but only on rosters of easter region drivers as liverpool and springs branch drivers were not signed on them.
they did do newcastle-liverpools on odd occasions but i never got to see them, and they where well gone when i got my 1st video camera, many thanks for your comments.
Crikey! Liverpool Lime Street is now practically a loco-free zone with the exception of visiting specials and the Class 57s when the Pendolinos are on diversions!
When were the class 108s withdrawn?

@MrGriser Does anyone know why only 108s were used on Liverpool LS - Wigan NW services and never other DMUs such as 101s and 104s?
HORNEBEEDUBLO 1 year ago
@HORNEBEEDUBLO I'm not sure I've always wanted to know why Northern only use 142s and 156s in the far North East!
MrGriser 1 year ago
@MrGriser Probably due to depot allocation and crew knowledge of classes. The 150s are concentrated at Newton Heath, Manchester.

When your video was taken, people were getting excited about the new trains; sprinter and pacer units.
