TV is so impersonal these days. It's such a shame that the BBC is a shadow of its former self. They really lost sight of their reason for being there, and now it's just another commercial channel in all but name.
Good god I'd like to go back to these days, I'd give anything. I know a lot of it is nostalgia but things were better back then, as little as twenty years ago. I fear for this country and the rest of the world. I think things are generally going downhill and there's nothing we can do.
Heh, I noticed "Tom Waits: Big Time" on the Sunday schedule. That was the first CD I ever owned, which was two decades ago, but over time it got lost.
It's unfortunate I've never seen such imaginative promos like the Christmas "Platoon" ad out here in the States.
@Jimwoodward1212 i was born on this date 21/12/1991, its funny how the time is 1:47, no joke the number '147' haunts me, if its coincedence or not i see it everywhere. just thought id search the day i was born on youtube, this came up, seen ur comment, 1:47!! wtf?!
This is from the night of Saturday 21st December 1991, into the early hours of Sunday 22nd. The film ending is 'The Big Sleep', original 1946 version, which I think was chosen to end A Perfect Christmas because it had been popular on Christmas TV in the 1970s.
21st December 1991 was the day that BBC 2 looked back upon classic Christmas programmes from years gone by. I have some of the special idents that were used earlier that day so will upload them soon.
The COLOR Purple? I thought this was BRITISH Broadcasting Corporation.

The BBC2 idents never seemed that great to me, but they were still better than the shite we have today...
