My Lithuanian friend, you shouldn't worry so much. Yes, unfortunately the time of Great Lithuania has passed, and you are left dependent upon certain countries. It is just how this world works, the small are always dependent on the big.

As for dictatorship, it is not always bad. Sure I agree with you that things aren't going as well as they should, but there is still hope, there is still the possibility of Putin making some good decisions.

At the same time the oposition is absolutely apauling, which kind of makes Putin the only candidate. Russians really don't have a choice here.

And no there aren't many Russians who critisise Putin, in fact there are very few, check the vote and the ratings (they are not fake, at least 90% of them aren't).

Unfortunately though some problems in Russia require a strong hand, and would never be solved under Yeltsin; obviously I will be very dissapointed if they don't get solved under Putin, but there is the potential.

As for the election: it wasn't a fake, people do actually support Putin that much. Sure there were some strange things going on, but it still doesn't change the fact that Putin's rating is somewhere between 60-70%.

some problems cant be solved so fast as Putin wants. yeltsin was good president as well as Gorbachev. They both changed the face of russia. They started reforms. huge reforms. Putin always wants to say that all successful reforms were done by him. That's not true.

By the way, Putin's rating lowered since presidential elections.

Yeltsin wasn't a good president, in fact you could say that while Yeltsin was president Russia had no president. the fact is that Yeltsin was the first president of RF. He become the president after the fall of Soviet union. it's natural that after such a event everything is bad in country. He started everything from the bottom, from zilch. He couldnt make all reforms in time.

That's why in 1991, January 13 Russian military wanted to take control of strategic objects in Lithaunian capital. they got our national televion, but they didnt encourage to attack parliament building as it was surrounded by too many people, military gace up. durinf this shit 14 people were killed and hundreds were injuried

Not exactly, it is only the US, UK, Poland and the Baltic countries that are particularly bothered. So you are overexaggerating. Look at Finnland for example, they don't really critisise Russia, they just work to improve their own country and are succeding.

Authorities just wanted to replace monument and Estonia got the greatest threats and insults from Russia and russians, Estonians were called nazists, fashists and so on.
