Since the end of WW II, I and many others (then kids) we were bombarded with a campaign of hatred against Germany and Germans - not only against the Nazis, with arguments that seemed convincing to us, perhaps only for our convenience or our misinformation.
It' a shame that after almost sixty years, the Truth is not yet been proved to us former kids with better arguments than those expressed by the above mentioned savants.
Quite avoiding to refute the disturbing allegations of the unwelcome witness, the two bold youngsters (probably members of the Jewish community in Rome) had merely slapped it with the epithet of "sleazy character, that disqualifies it by itself for the profession that it makes", further adding that they avoided using the term "Holocaust" and that they preferred the term "Shoah" - textually in italian: " ... a noi piace di più dire Shoah" (we like more say Shoah).
Some years ago, I heard on the radio the ramblings of two bright young men, who mocked the considerations of a certain eng. Webster (or Lobster, I forget), who, as a designer for gas chambers and crematoria for several prisons in the U.S., had expressed doubt that the infamous installations in the Nazi concentration camps have never been able to work.
Guys, I'm old, 65 and getting on, and this sort of crap was shown on movie screens before the main feature, also cartoons and popcorn ads. Turn it upside down (Germans good/others bad), and the shit was shown in Berlin. Yes there were mass killings in Central Europe then, 6 million or more in the camps, millions more non-combatants outside the camps. The lesson is lost. The lesson should be "no war at all." Then, if we have war anyway, "no killing of non-combatants." Horrible, no matter what.
Of course not all Germans were bad, but at the same time, I believe America was justified in making this film to show to our soldiers. There was something morally wrong with the general German populace at that time because on the whole, they did very little to stop the Nazis.
@Paatrikklives They were NS why they would stop themselfs? Germans believe in Fatherland! As did Americans or should be americans stop being americans? as I recal in atrocidies German ones can not even come close to US has done over the years since its birth US history is one of bloodshet and mass killing I wonder what happen to the Real Americans for example... Genocide? Send to Reserves? Yes this how US is moraly superior?
A great man once said that there is only one face of evil in any army, that face is the leader's. Only Hitler and a few other appoited leaders knew about the concentration camps in full detail. Hell not even Hitler's bodyguard knew much about the camps, so how would the friendly german postman know about this. Also germany was a dictatorship, so anyone who had the balls to argue with there 'method' was shot or sent to one of the camps.
@LottoWinner999 No, they are not all bad and evil. Some are "good". When I was a wee boy my Great Uncle Archie used to show me a pocket watch he got from a "good German" at Arnhem in September 1944. So there must have been some "good" Germans around then eh?
wait,, I just saw Irene Zisblatt in that crowd of people, it looks like she's talking to a guy , it looks like Eli Wiesel, I wonder what they're talking about?
@georgel19841 I like how you try to make yourself look sensitive about animal cruelty, even going to the point of trying to sub & friend my wifes 12 YEAR OLD NIECE! but end up getting blocked because you try to pretend like you didn't say all those perverted things to MY WIFE!(you know, like when you talked about having her dress in leather and touch your back with a whip)...LoL
Pure Propaganda, Germans are good people. Hitler was just a mad man who was able to take control over Germany and the people and intimidate them into believing the Nazi ways.
Other countries have done bad things in the past, it's wrong to demonise a particular race.
Pardon for my ignorance.. Can anyone tell me whether does Germany also have a constitution whereby Germans are not allowed to use military for war except for defense purposes? (similar to Japanese constitution)
This is bullcrap; Nazi Germany was not "simply" an extension of Germany's history. Germany's had a turbulent history of pacifism and militarism just like any other nation. The situation after WW1, and its result in WW2, should have been nothing short of expected. I hate Germanophobia, but I hate intrinsically linking Germans to Nazis even more. Afte rall, demonization is what allowed the Nazis get support to begin with.
It's kind of ridiculous to jail someone for expressing their freedom of speech, that is the same as dictatorship , for them to have that kind of hatred toward a group of people, well they must have done something. I can't believe people could be that evil but then again I could be wrong. Character faults are found everywhere , just look at the muslim threat today.
If America would learn to write even moderately balanced histories... or even read some history books maybe they wouldn't. The main problem is that the US doesn't like admiting to these mistakes and instead either ignores or justifies. Instead they learned the joys of unrestrained bombing followed by 'helpful' rebuilding that just happend to make the US butt loads of money.
Ummm... so no one in the occupied countries knew about it? Or helped them?
And I guess burning them and/or expelling them from your country is really different?
Canada wouldn't even accept boatloads of them and happily sent them back to a Germany that was apparently evil incarnate. Ooops. US did the same thing.
Every nation has done horrible things. The natives anyone in North America?
Neat upload though. Video's like this help give context to our history and I love that.
Somehow I think expelling people when you don't care if they live or die is on the same level. Germany is definately not alone when it comes to wishing harm on the jews. Europe has had a long proud tradition of persecuting and killing jews.
Same with America although to a lesser extent... probably because they were distracted with the enslaving of blacks and the extermination of the native americans.
"this video is made by people with slaves" Really?
Perhaps they should have put a disclaimer that "No current slave owners were involved in the making of this propaganda film"?
How many tribes in Africa sold people to the slave traders?
Slavery was just as wrong as Nazi atrocities. We had a civil war that ended it and made it possible to move forward. How many African countries continue multi-generational conflicts? What will it take to end the killing and move on?
The film was made for those soldiers who would be occupying Germany after WW II, to ensure that there was no revival of the Nazi party, in order to give Democracy a chance to take hold.
The bottom line is, we succeeded. We also helped rebuild Japan. The people we sent over to build a peace time economy in Japan are responsible for the quality of products that it has become famous for. Look up W. Edwards Deming
The bottom line is that you are talking out of ignorance.
A hand full of rag-tag terrorists who could not get laid get convinced by a fanatic that if they crash planes into buildings that thwy will be rewarded by God?
In case you missed it, Bin Laden won nothing!
The Allies defeated the Axis - the US profited more than any of the powers and was in the best shape to restore the world economy - and opened markets for the cranked up production capacity from the war effort.
Rebuilding infrastructure does not resurrect innocent victims of A-bombing.
Yes, the US did profit more than any of the powers and it would be right to say that the US was the only one who profited from WWII and most of the future wars.
Who financed the rise of Hitlers Nazi party?
Who collaborated with German war industry at the beginning of WWII?
ha ha. True dis. Why in fact did Germany and Japan need all this rebuilding done? Why it was because the Allies bombed the living bejesus out of civilian targets, dwarfing anything done or attempted by the Axis. Although to be fair dropping two nukes and fire bombing Tokyo DOES seem like a pretty resonable response to Pearl Harbour...
The lessons learned from bombing/rebuilding Europe/Japan gave the US the knowhow in Iraq.
@historyvideos101 People in Europe aren't any different than people in North America, and yet Americans tend to hold a double standard; they must always have the higher moral ground. America was founded on a great double standard. Think about it: slave owners who wanted to be free. So it is rather irksome for the regular folk of Germany to be called the "bad guys" by countires just as guilty of being bullies as they were. I can provide examples of this double standard if it is not already clear.
@MusikAndLuv I never said that I agree with the propaganda of this film. If you were to see propaganda from Nazi Germany de-humanizing the Jews/Blacks for instance or in Japan. It's all about making their people feel good. That is what propaganda is. Yes, many Americans do live with double standards. If I were raised in another country, I would see them more clearly, however, there is no country on Earth that more people emigrate to by choice than America.
I think that the vast majority feel the same. I just watched the musical "1776" and it deals with the issue of slavery that our founding fathers struggled with. In order for the Declaration of Independence to be approved, those who were against slavery had to accept that the Southerners kept language out that was anti-slavery. It haunts America to this day. The treatment of the Native Americans is another shameful episode.
Every country has it's wrongs to remember. Finding a way to be better..
Did anyone notice the musical accompaniment? As I understand, the string ritornello (which first appears at 0:10 ) was the incidental music for 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', banned under nazi rule, I think because the composer, Mendelssohn, associated with or helped jews.
of course he hasn't. You can only get 'thrown' in jail for advocating hatred and violence against an identifiable group of people, in this case, the jews. Questioning the holocaust is not enough to merit criminal charges, but it is not socially acceptable. What this guy wishes he could do is the former, which he CAN be jailed for. He's just a holocaust denying anti-semite.
Errr... I'm pretty sure in Germany, and perhaps a few other countries, you can be jailed for questioning aka 'denying' the holocaust, or even questioning the official numbers. Could be wrong though. . . any German's out there want to confirm/point out my ignorance?
I'm not German, but yes you can be jailed for denying the Holocaust in Germany and 12 other countries. British historian David Irving was found guilty in Vienna of denying the Holocaust and sentenced to three years in prison.
PowderSoy and PeacyKat you guys are born in a Germany built on disco and petuli oil. So you will have a disconnect from WWII. Bottom line is Krauts like to throw subhumans in the oven. No matter how many trees they plant or bottles they recycle they always enjoy a good book burning. What I do not understand is why they cannot just say "yeah we fu**ed up, sorry". Why cannot Krauts just accept it, admit guilt, then keep fermenting Sauerkraut in Lederhosen?
The propaganda is obvious, but you have to see this video in its historical context.
That Germany was the only responsible country for WWI is not the truth.
The British for Example wanted the war to destroy the steadily growing fleet of the German Empire.
After the war the entente declared Germany as the only responsible for WWI. In my opinion this and the hard reparations were also important factors which led to WWII.
"...Joann Kremer, an SS doctor who oversaw the gassings, testified that: "Shouting and screaming of the victims could be heard through the opening and it was clear that they fought for their lives."[177] When they were removed, if the chamber had been very congested, as they often were, the victims were found half-squatting, their skin colored pink with red and green spots, some foaming at the mouth or bleeding from the ears..."
Yes, I accept they did do these things - and more. But then the Allies incinerated 100s of thousands of German men, women and children in their cities. Can you really profess to hold the moral high ground when you engage in such slaughter? I don't think so. When you consider how the western allies abandoned 100s of thousands of ethnic Germans, Croats Cossacks and others to certain death at the hands of the new order in the East, it's had to feel anything other than revulsion and shame.
OK - what is the number (in your sources opinion?
By the way, "the Nazi persecution of Jews is not explicitly mentioned, but in the initial sequence of Nazi atrocities it shows the bones of "men, women and children: sent to be exterminated in a German death factory".

Thank you for uploading this documentary!

The propaganda is so obvious, the biggest hoax in history is the insane embellisment of the "jewish" holocaust

The Jewish Holocaust numbers are proven to be false. They bullshited to everyone. Look it up. Research it you will see.
kundio6661 3 years ago
OK - what is the number (in your sources opinion?
By the way, "the Nazi persecution of Jews is not explicitly mentioned, but in the initial sequence of Nazi atrocities it shows the bones of "men, women and children: sent to be exterminated in a German death factory".
