@turneniscool Dit is geen marteling, dit is hard werk van de Sovjets. In Nederland zijn ze dit soort hard werken niet gewend, dus lijkt het op marteling.
Which move was it that caused the most injuries back then on bars? Was it the one where they hit the bar with their stomach? Or those big releases like the one Olga Korbutt did first when she stood on the top bar and then somersaulted to catch?
yep! even olga korbut my favorite gymnast was in it twice!!! I love doing gymnastics i do a ton of training it's hard. But this was the best montage ever! :D
Just those who learned to type on a cell phone. Sorry, that was rude. No, I'm not insulting cheerleaders, just saying that gymnastics is what you do if you're hardcore and dedicated to being the best in the world's most difficult sport.
All of the footage of the tiny Romanian girl's training is from an '88 documentary called "The Romanian Dream." It's really good, features how the Romanians select girls to go into the base clubs, not just Deva. It also has Dobre and Silivas training for Seoul.
@kevin123verstappen (i know this is an old comment but still) i think they were meaning why was the bar THIN, like did it make it easier or not. NOT why they used it
The women's uneven bars are derived from the men's parallel bars (the Germans, I think, had the idea of lowering one of the bars to take advantage of women's increased flexibility), which is why they're thicker than the men's high bar. They weren't originally intended for the same purpose as the high bar.
because girls becan trying to do giants/releases like on men's high bar, so it was figured better of they were move far enough apart to make tis easier. cus man, those giants were ugly!
Like 20 or 30 years ago people did that, but it's not bad for your muscles, they just don't get any longer. Of course when you bounce a little bit to hard your muscles could tear. You shouldn't stretch more than your body allows you, when you do you've got a big chance to get injured.
ahh i see, im not sure if you could answer me on this but then if your trying to get good extension and elongating ur muscels and tendons, bouncing isnt the way to strech, but streching into something would be better?
O now I see, you're a ballerina! I'm in a dance academy too, sow I know what your goal is; Those hyper extended legs, a deep plie, long lines and gorgeous feet. But I don't really get your question, what exactly do you mean with 'stretching into something'?
oh cool, im royal ballet school, senior associate,
im not very good at explaining, but as a ballet dancer should we just hold the streches and push into them slowly, or should we bounce to ?..[any better]
You should be warmed up first of course, and when you stretch hold it for at least 20 seconds en really relax your muscles and focus on your breathing. That really helps, and it hurts less. You can push into your stretch but do it very gentle.
ps while im at it lol.. erm do u have any audition techniques to pass to me ?!.. cus iv got a few major auditions comming up and i wouldnt mind some advice..
When I came back to ballet class, my teacher asked me to call her, so I did. She asked me to audition. But it wasn't really a audition, I just took a class with them, apperently they saw something in me, and I'm a guy, so they took me. Now I have almost 5 months of dancing experience, but I learned a lot.
But I've never had a real audition so I can't really help you. I know a few things: Always stand in the front or in the back if there are a lot of dancers, or if there are just a couple of guys; Stand next or close to one (they always look in the front or the back and at guys), make sure you have space to move so you can do you very best. That was my only advice: Make sure they see you, and do your very best.
I don't think that's good for your body, and it might help, but not as much as ordinary stretching exercises. Just as stretching with vibrations, really weird. I still prefer the normal way.
=D.. im trying both ways still fairly the same, im flat down in all 3 splits..im trying to get it so its more then 180..[i can do front splits with one foot upon one step of the stair case flt down] but just wanting to increase it as much as i can.. [reli har to explain this lol] ..
