Everyone, I will be reviewing my comments and trying to fulfill requests of reviews. Thanks for your comments! I will be starting this after my semester ends on May 15 as I am so busy with my graduate studies in nursing.
Sorry if I misunderstood. I haven't been up to the technological advanced of using a HD camcorder or camera so I only own a Sony 5MP camera from a few years ago. I'm slowly getting into recording videos and taking pictures throughout my life when I'm out. ;p
@aieabio74: I have used my Sony AVCHD camera and my 2.53 Mac mini to do high def video editing in iMovie. It works like a charm :) havent had any problems or glitches. Pretty fast - the 9400M drags it back a little. This was my first mac which just arrived last week. I was unsure about shelling out more, but after what i saw, im planning to get a macbook pro 17" :)
Why would you spend 900 Dollars for a 24 inch monitor? You could get a 47 inch TV for that much that you can use as a display... So why would you pay 900 dollars for an Apple logo? Also, it doesn't make much sense to buy a cheap computer and buy a 900 dollar monitor.
I didn't spend $900. I spent about $599 refurbished. There are other excellent monitors from makers like Dell and HP that may monitors that cost more than the Apple Cinema Display.
I read that the mac min was very reliable. It also fit my needs for the price. However, it was mainly because I got a 24" ACD and bluetooth keyboard/mighty mouse, with my 15" MBP. Then I wanted a desktop for home use and I would use my MBP for school and going around in the living room, out to starbucks, etc. With mobileme, it made my life easier...
Well I'm a registered nurse. I do side jobs with an agency giving flu shots. I used that money to buy all these goodies. So yeah, I've been working many hours a week trying to save up for all these and plus have left over for Christmas! Took me a several weeks to save up. I'm a graduate student getting my masters in family nurse practitioner and since I'm a graduate assistant for the nursing school, I get a tuition waiver. :D

Switch out your Mac Mini hard drive to a solid state drive and you'll get a significant increase in performance...

the LCD is excellent, only the resolution is a big letdown imho. The 21,5" imac has the same horizontal resolution. Think about it.

@lakshmere I think they're coming out with a new 27" monitor eh?

Go for the 15" and upgrade the RAM! It may be a better value? Well I'm glad you found something you like. I have a 15" MBP late 2009 too.

No I don't think so. I believe only 720p? (Apple's "HD"). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

no thats true, the asker would have to get a different editing software, maybe final cut, but not imovie

even $599 for a 24" monitor is ridiculous. I paid $349 for my samsung 24" last year and now you can buy it for about $100 less than what i paid...
