hey...i got marshall mg 15 cdr..n i use boss mt-2 for distortion...will this pedal help me ta reduce the feedback noise??..or do you have any idea to reduce feedback noise??..reply soon dude!! :)
I definitely getting this one... i had 10 stompbox the tuner is included in my pedal train... And do u think it will elliminate the buzz and feedback sound from my half stock tube amp?
need help guys. i still get lots of feedback even with this pedal. im using planet wave tuner,ts9 n boss NS-2 thats all. cables are all planetwaves. im using LTD deluxe that comes with emg pickups. i still have lots of feedback during shows n jammings
im usin a beta aivin noise gate, it works fine when im usin my heavy metal pedal full gain + an EQ boosting it, but when i turn my compressor on thers no way of stoppin the feedback :P (btw i dont know how to use the effect loop properly, so i dont use it) I have a blackstar 5HT
hi-just got onre of these it cuts the hum when you activate it but when you play the guitar the hum comes back throuth the speaker-the pedla that smakes the most hum is ibanesz ge9 graphic equaliser--can you telll me why i still get the hum-i have tried alll the settings still the same and have moved it arounf the pedal board -didi not solve it -i thought this pedal would solve the hum---sean
@hendrix1222 yes, it should, assuming the buzz is coming from either single coil p/u or active/hi gain p/u's.. as long as the buzz isnt coming from the amp itsself it should.
My fuzz pedal howls like a motherfucker unless I use a noise suppressor (possibly exacerbated by the fact that I mainly play a Strat with stock single coils). This is a really good explanation of how the pedal works.
Does this pedal silence the really loud noise of the highest gain? xP If u know what i mean? Does it work well with hi gain with pretty much noise? Does it destroy the metal sound? Or does it only silence noise?
@g3tard hey, i use it, i play death metal on a fireball100 amp and we go very loud with much gain. I use the boss NS-2 and it works perfect! try to set your speaker very loud, turn you guitar on and hold your hands in the air.. you will get deaf of the noise! But this pedal takes it all away without changing the sound at all.
How do u set up the boss ns2. I cant figure out what goes into the send and return. The plug in's have me confused. Is there anyway someone can tell me how to set up a pedalboard with this noise gate. Thanks
who do you have a bunch of effects when you have a piece of shit guitar? for the price of those pedals you couldve bought a decent guitar instead of a $90 squire
i have a laney 35 watt amp.. and when its volume is pushed up to the top ( im using the jackson kelly and a boss md-2) i get some horrible noise... too much squealing and feedback, not buzz... can this pedal help me ?
I hav a distortoin pedal called The Dime DIstortion by MXR and i al the time wish i and wack it up but at makes a big squeel and tones of fuzz can this pedal mute them all
So here's the deal, how do I reduce my noise to the fullest? My pedals in order: Guitar --> Crybaby Wha-Wha --> Korg tuning pedal --> Boss NS-2 --> Boss MT-2 (dist pedal) --> Boss EQ pedal --> Boss DD-2 pedal --> Amp. How do u suggest I place them in the right order, note I have not used the "return & send" in my Boss NS-2. Sorry for alot of text but an answer would be awesome!
@phillydip I dont have any LX Loop on my Amp. I have a Marshall 1959RR so yeah. Can you tell me how I shall put my pedals in order cause yours are a little bit confusing ^^
i have a distortion pedal along with a overdrive booster pedal from MXR and the thing howls like a bitch cause i have so much feedback. Would this pedal clear that up for me?
it's best to place delay and reverb pedals behind the ns-2. that's what i've read and what works best for me too... Reverb and delay pedals usually don't give alot of noise... The most noise I get is from my fuzz and distortion pedals anyways...
i just got a cool vox ad100vt-xl, but with my pedal setup the ns is much needed. can anyone help me choose which pedals would go in a) the effects send, and b) which ones would go in the regular chain?:
boss ns, mxr eq, ehx holy stain, ehx big muff pi tone wicker, boss dd-6, digitech synth wah, and yes even an alesis bitrman (wild tones if you set it up right). i'm assuming that some of these pedals are sucking up my tone as well.
@mastertrev try running anything gain, fuzz, overdrive based in the loop of the ns, then run the ns before your delays and what not after. traditionally speaking, you run dirt pedals to the front of an amp and your modulation/reverb/delays into the effects loop of the amp, if without a loop in the amp, running them after the dirt pedals is pretty standard. the idea of the noise suppressor, i feel, is to clean up ONLY drive pedals.you can always just put whatever pedals make too much noise in too
@griffinmpable EnnesX makes sense. sustain and tone are the things i would never sacrifice. fortunately i have a loop on the amp as to set up your 'non gainey' effects. and i would always recommend a good eq for the loop. makes a hell of a difference. thanks for the help
ok i bought a delay pedal recently..i love it..but it hadds so much buzz even with it off. if i would this pedal at the end of my effect chain...we it stop the buzzing from my delay pedal?
@nightskater2112 If I understand correctly, you would plug your guitar into the input, then go from the send to your delay pedal, from the delay pedal to the return and then from the output to the amp. So, you'd need two patch cables and two regular cables. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
@TheThirteenthCircle That's correct sir. BUT, if you are only using the NS-2 and ONE other pedal, you wouldn't need to put it thru the send, because there is nothing else to gate. So you would simply just have the noise gate at the beginning of the chain, and the other pedal after... and into the amp.
If you have a number of pedals however, you would want to run your dirt section thru the send of the NS-2. That way it's not acting as a gate to ALL your pedals.
@MrHeavysteel you shouldnt lose any tone, mabey a tiny bit of sustain if you set the gate up to high on the pedal but with the right balance you should be fine, hope i helped
@metalrocker68 Actually the MXR Smart Gate is Hardwire bypass meaning that it doesn't have a buffer like the Boss, however it still goes through the signal when off. I emailed them and the video stating it is true bypass is incorrect. I don't know why look it up if you don't believe me.
Think I'm gonna get one.... I got a ds-1, RE20 and Alesis quadraverb rack and the hum is ridiculous.... not convinced this pedal won't suck out the tone but for 50 quid who gives a fk !
@posiedonpowertrio4:30 I guess, good vid.... but what cables do you use ? doesent look expensive. . ? , dont have to get the very expensive , but not the cheepest, then it takes away alot of fuzz and buzz ... but on high gain, that will screems anyway , when you got too have this pedal ,
-at 3:59 one (or a combination of a few) of the pedals he's got is creating that high harmonic squeal.
-you use the decay dial to determine how much time before it starts suppressing noise, so if you set the threshold low enough, and the decay slow enough, it shouldn't affect your sustain at all...and unless you set the decay to nearly instantaneous a delay effect should work fine also.
@insidegoodoutsidebad that's the dc transformer noise from the me-50 pedal. The power sources for these pedals destroys tone and adds a nasty squeal into the chain. The purpose of the noise suppressor is to eliminate this. I usually prefer to use an analogue preamp to boost guitar input and avoid noise, but you'll always want something to fix whatever's left behind, especially if you use single-coil pickups like those in a Strat. The Boss pedal runs for about $100, and a Behringer one for $21.
So the way I understand it, my guitar goes into the input. The output goes to the amp. the send would go to my first pedal, and the last pedal would go to the return. Is this correct?
@rootbeerandguitar Almost, you only really want your gain or otherwise noisy pedals going through this pedal. i bought one of these the other day. still kind of confused as to how to hook it up properly. when i first got it i hooked it up through my other pedals (boss ds-1, boss os-2 and 535Q wah pedal) but i got nothing out of it. so i started with 1 pedal and added more as i went. now have it running through the ds-1 and os-2 but not the wah. can you do a quick run through showing how to properly hook it up with other pedals. @kaseyc69
"input" is where your original source goes in (like a direct line from your guitar lets say) then the
"send" goes to your loop of pedals you want the suppressor to do its thing on (distortion pedals, wahs, chorus, flangers, etc)
"return" is where the last of the pedals i mentioned gets connected back into the pedal
"output" is basically the where the noise suppressed noise ends up (usually sent to a delay/reverb, or flager/chorus type pedal)

i don't get it, can u make it just block out all of the fuzz and staticky shit i don't want to hear, and just make it silent unless i play??

@BUFFW Yes. It has a noise gate in it, meaning the noise has to reach a certain level before it is actually put out XD

i bought one of these the other day. still kind of confused as to how to hook it up properly. when i first got it i hooked it up through my other pedals (boss ds-1, boss os-2 and 535Q wah pedal) but i got nothing out of it. so i started with 1 pedal and added more as i went. now have it running through the ds-1 and os-2 but not the wah. can you do a quick run through showing how to properly hook it up with other pedals. (return send etc) thanks
