  • cool vid - thanks man

  • Hey, quick question. Every time I cut a new transient I have to re-highlight the audio with the marquee tool and start from the beginning again to get to the next transient. It looks like when you do it, you can do it continuously and much faster. Why does the region not stay highlighted after I make one cut?

  • you have just got me a good grade in A level music technology :)

  • Hey Drew. Thanks for the videos. Just a quick question. How would I apply this technique if i had a kit recorded with overheads? Quantization and tempo changes dont seem to work as I cant divide the regions in an even way?

    thanks

  • If you are only using overheads this technique requires a bit more time, but it will still work. Just make sure and go through your "audio to score" and ensure that each drum hit is getting one midi note (one white line for each drum hit). This is where most people mess up. The way to divide the regions evenly after you are done creating the tempo map is to hold down option and make a cut on the first 16th note (even if there is no drum hit).

    its all in the video

    hope this helps

  • Great. Makes sense thanks

  • Hey just a quick question. I am using my midi keyboard to enter notes into logic. However there is like a second of silence at the start and end of my loop. Therefore when I command r and repeat the loops broken. Any idea how to fix this >

  • this happens when you start to play before the the first and last beat of the loop you are creating. Quantize the region with the inspector (top left, 1/16 is usually good). Put your cursor over the start of the region and it should turn into the trim tool( looks like this [ ). click and drag to where you started playing. Same thing for the end but put your cursor over the bottom corner of the region. I hope this helps.

  • thank u so much. that worked!

  • Warbbles, huh?

Aren't they out there in the enchanted forest ... next door to the smurfs? ;-) That was funny!

Great couple of videos! Very helpful, indeed. I hope that more people find out about your efforts, and watch them.

    Don't forget to subscribe, too!

    Thanks again. Take care.
