This is one of the surviving tales we have from the the Grand (Edwardian) Age, the others are Mary Poppins, Lady and the Tramp, Lad: A Dog, 101 Dalmations, Greyfriars Bobby. I urge you all to make sure that these are not merely preserved as Disney films but also as the works of literature they represent. Peter Pan... make a wish!
I have been looking for this movie for years. Does any one have a copy of it? I have almost all of Terhunes books. I even have some of his mothers books ans a cook book.
Is it me, or is the background behind Bugs Bunny just like the one in "Robin Hood Daffy", with all the leafs being the same shape? I wouldn't know about color since it's in black and white..
Still mourning for the loss of Sonny, the little girl at first rejects the puppy, calling him 'wolf' in anger, when it is almost run over by an automobile in the driveway, but survives, and is adopted by the little girl who sticks to calling him Wolf. ; )
No wolf doesn't die in the movie..but it is very loosely baced on the story. Still it is a good show and well worth having if one can buy it. I first saqw it in the early 60's.
I saw this on the Disney Channel back in '92 when the channel used to be commercial-free and geared to all ages. This is the first time I've ever heard of a movie promotion offering pedigreed puppies (one of Lad's two puppies, Sonny, tragically, perishes in a fire and the other, Wolf, almost is killed by an oncoming car in the driveway when Sonny's young owner at first rejects it).

Of course you should recognized the mustachioed actor in the film. (I won't stifle you with the answer).
Good luck.

If Wolf dies as a pup it's not a very faithful adaptation...!
