We Buddhists honor An Seikou (An Shigao) who was Parthian-Iranian prince who gave up his crown to devote life to peace and translated Sutras from Sanskrit to Chinese. He was first person in recorded history. After him came many others. The most important was Kumaraju (Kumarajiva) who translated the Lotus Sutra. They were from Central Asia, mixed-Indians and Iranians etc. They were responsible for establishing foundations of Chinese-Japanese philosophy. We will never forget your great ancestors.

When Islam is the religion of the day- well, look at the shit-hole called Afghanistan.

When Buddhism was the religion of the day, that same land was the prosperous Gandhara Kingdom where gold was plenty & Chinese monks of Tang China tirelessly struggled to reach & acquire Buddhist scriptures & the knowledge of enlightenment. (At that time, Tang Dynasty of China was the world's richest & most advance country - with absolute monopoly of silk- weighed more valuable than gold and diamonds.)

I am Buddhist from Japan. We Japanese study about Afghanistan and Pakistan were the great Buddhist countries of the past. The Afghan people taught Buddhism to Chinese and Japanese people. We Japanese are grateful to Afghan Buddhism. We are sad that now Muslim Afghans dont like Buddhism. I hope Afghan people can return to path of Buddhist Enlightenment.

Any RELIGION that does this should be seen as a mental disorder. ISLAM with its plagiarised savagery knows that BUDDHISM stands above monotheism-being SO much more sophisticated than all that crawling on your knees crap that MUSLIMs love.

To distory is to stop future generations from learning what has been learnt in the past. I am sure that the people who created such amazing work wanted to share their stories with us.

Don't be sadden by the destruction "Feeling is impermanent" to feel sad is to suffer. For the people who have destroyed anything material or non material "feeling of happiness was impermanent" to feel happy from destruction is suffering. (this is one thing humans have never learnt from pass history).

What I learnt from the Dhamma (which is the teachings of the buddha) is to not believe in a person blindly who may distort the facts for his or her own gain

Buddha taught not to become attached to things (material or non material) cause if you do it causes suffering. People need to realise this

I only feel sad that people who distroyed the buddha statue with bullets or bombs did not have enough respect for the people who worked hard and died for in creating such amazing work

People who destroyed the Buddah are the most innocent monkeys in the universe. The buddah became destroyed by Taliban of Pashtun tribe. I don't know what to say to these people, their action tells it's own language...
