Also you don't often hear white Australians whining about the injustices against their ancestors, a historical trauma that has rendered the descendants better off in many ways than they might otherwise have been! It doesn't excuse slavery, but it puts it in context.

There were documented instances in which some Africans participated in selling people of other tribes and rulers selling people of their own tribe for weapons but for the vast majority of cases it was due to slave raids. "Serenity Prayer" is based on and / or related to "the power of positive thinking", which comes from a book which is the foundation of it all. That book is called "Think and Grow Rich". It came out in the 1930's and its philosophy is well rooted in so-called "American Society". I was putting "positive thinking" into practice probably long before you were even a thought. I think that it would have been more appropriate to ask me why I ask the "critical question", instead of assuming why I ask it. There are many reasons that I have for asking a person if they are a "white" person. One of which can reveal the truth to them, that they are not in fact a white person, and possibly to get a REAL dialog going about the "race" problem.
