how do you get shield doors on their sides?

in order to get them on their sides, i go to monitor mode, spawn a shield door, then hold RT and move it around with the joysticks to make it sideways, then i go to where i want it, DO NOT LET GO OF IT, HOLD IT AS MONITOR, then hit start, and Save Changes, or Save as new map, then just end the game. When you start it up, the shield door will be floating on its side wherever you put it.
