Best load out: Plasma Cutter, Line Gun, Force Gun. plasma cutter does the majority of work. Line gun is your room clearer, and force gun takes care of those annoying swarms and divider segments.

The contact beam is my absolute favorite gun to use! It can dismember brutes and disintegrate anything else, plus it looks like a motorcycle engine! The Line gun is also favorable, as is the pulse rifle when I feel like actually being pinpoint accurate about limb dismemberment. Though I hate the ripper. In my eyes it is too slow to get the job done.

Best weapons when fully upgraded are: Pulse Rifle as main, Force Gun in close combat, Line Gun in choke points such as hallways and Contact Beam for boss fights and just to be cool.

the best four weapons are plasma, pulse, line. and the chuck norris bitch slap. man I love doing stasis and slapping them silly. I used the contact beam for a while wanted to get the trophy after 30 kills, after that though I never used it or the flame or the ripper. the force was pretty bad ass especially the secondary fire

The Contact Beam isn't useless, it's just very situational. It has a slow charge (without upgrades), but massive damage (100 pts without upgrades), and a useful secondary function. Some places where it's useful are: - Secondary fire useful when surrounded by necromorphs (doesn't happen often though) - Fighting brutes (armor-plated guys), Stasis + 4 shots in the back, saves other ammo. - Stationary tentacles, one shot to weak spot kills them.

I always had 2 stacks of ammo, which is enough

Why would carrying 4 weapons be noobish? I did for most of the game(cutter,ripper, pulse and line gun trophy by chapter 9 force by 10.) and it did not hurt me at all. I only used 2 after chapter 6. I'm glad i saw this because that's the same poor way i was using this gun. I have no clue how to use it to get the trophy.

thats the way to do it, indeed, spartacus811, the most useless weapon in the game I'd have to say is the flame thrower, it burns through ammo to fast, its damage is time based instead of stacked and the necromorphs don't die fast enough if your not torching them continually.

The contact beam is worthless. It's totally situational. It looks cool, but the fully upgraded plasma cutter > everything.

It's completely noobish to get 4+ weapons on your first playthrough. It's actually easier to play through with only the plasma cutter, all your nodes funnel into it early on to max it, then you can max your hp, stasis, etc. Nodes don't grow on trees.

The contact beam is worthless? I'm sorry, is there any other weapon that can two shot a brute? make necromorphs explode in as close to one second, and appear not to have a range limitation? Not that I can tell, in fact I think the contact beam is the second best weapon in the game, the plasma cutter is agreeably the first. And Nodes don't grow on trees, your right, they're sold in the store in an unlimited supply, I don't see how the contact beam is bad, its just expensive on ammo.

Me too. I'm really glad the Devs promised 15+ hours of scary, gory and fun gameplay, not to mention that you can't upgrade all your stuff in the first go. Dude that would be the best. Co-op woull get really serious when there like 40 necromorphs on you and then one has to fend them off while the other has to do some sort of puzzle to escape. And to top it what if your body died and then he was a necromorph for good. Co-op would be the cherry in my gametastic super sunday that is dead space, to bad it aint happening.
