OK, so I've never seen anyone push so hard in the wet before. BUT, he only came in second! (Well, he did make that one mistake...) Sykes got the pole, SO, I'm thinking that Sykes' pole lap must have been even more spectacular, BUT, I can't find any footage of it anywhere...

SO, what's the deal? Was the track much drier when Sykes got his time? I don't know, but, if the conditions were similar, why the fanfare over Kiyo's ride, as spectacular as it was, but nothing over Sykes' run? Were the track/weather conditions just that much different?...

@hun615 Yes, most of the other riders qualified earlier in the day when track conditions were better. Kiyo was only 1/10 second behind the pole and Kiyo was the only one of the two that qualified on a wet track.

You're right about today's F1 though.

Besides, it's not uncommon to find bikes today with ABS, traction control and other electronics. Eventually, bikes will be bloated with computers just like some of the sports cars out there.
